Penny, 4, is lithe and easygoing, with a rich, shiny black coat. She beat out a silky-haired Afghan hound, an exuberant Old English sheepdog and a sprightly smooth fox terrier.

Not all dogs are hyperactive but for the ones that are they can really be a handful. See if this helps.

There is no way to calm a dog down instantly. You can remove them from the stressor temporarily, and train them to remain calm in the future though.
