Tick season is here 🐾🌿

As the weather warms up, ticks are becoming more active—and I’ve already started seeing them on dogs coming into the shop.

Here are a few quick tips to keep your pup safe:
• Use a vet-recommended tick preventative (topical, oral, or collar options are available)
• Check your dog daily, especially after walks or time in tall grass or wooded areas
• Pay close attention to ears, under collars, armpits, and between toes
• Keep your yard trimmed and minimize brush where ticks like to hide

If you do find a tick, remove it promptly with tweezers, getting as close to the skin as possible, and clean the area well afterward.

At Mulhern Grooming Co., I always keep an eye out for ticks during appointments—but prevention at home is key!

As our pups say goodbye to their winter coats, it’s the perfect time to get them in for a good deshedding treatment. Regular grooming not only keeps your dog looking great, but it also helps reduce all that extra fur around your home (your vacuum will thank you 😅).
