Fran is a former Parelli Professional, and has been competitive at the National level as an Eventer, Jumper, and Dressage rider. She is also an experienced barefoot trimmer, and has worked for, and managed a number of international level competition barns and programs, as well as building her

own farm and program in Wisconsin from the ground up. Her passion lies in helping the horse and rider see the best of each other through a combination of a horseman's attitude, along with the techniques of classical equitation, dressage, and horsemanship.

Who’s looking for a pint-sized sport pony to lease??

I bought Ruby in January to replace my sweet Amigo’s role as updowner and cross-railer in my lesson program. She is kind and gentle like that, but at no fault of her own, is a little too scopy to be a confidence builder for the kiddos just learning to jump.

Ruby is 14.1hh, and although not registered, she is of Quarter Horse breeding. She is the antithesis of the red mare stereotype. She’s sweet, easy to handle, gentle and innately quiet. She was originally a ranch horse on a working ranch in Texas and so has been there, done that and is wholly unbothered by the outdoors, new venues, and unfamiliar jumps. She loves to trail ride and is happy to go out with or without friends, on terrain or through the bushes.

Ruby would best be suited to an intermediate plus rider who wants to grow confident and learn about English sport. She could be pony carded and shown in the hunters (would take some polishing) or jumpers (already there).

Available for onsite full or half lease at LilliCrest Farm in Osseo. Preapproved offsite options considered but not guaranteed.

Good morning, Folks! LilliCrest Farm will have a training stall available September 15th!

Full time, part time, and pay-per-ride options available.

Includes 2x a day grain feed (Triple Crown products), high quality grass or grass-alfalfa hay depending on horse’s dietary need, and large turnouts in herds of 4-6.

Trainer’s program includes an extensive natural horsemanship background with lots of experience solving behavioral issues, fair and thorough c**t starting, dressage foundations, and over-fences training.

3 month full time minimum for problem horses and unstarted horses, all others by individual assessment with a 45 day minimum.

Today we got H Braces prepped, all line posts set and mown and ready for wire and vinyl on the lower barn side line! Looking forward to this next piece falling into place. This expansion and subsequent division of the field into two pastures will make turnout so much simpler, particularly in the cold dark parts of the year as all horses in the arena barn will go out there just across the parking lot instead of up the road.

Harley has become a farm fav since she arrived here 18 months ago! A 13 year old Throughbred mare, she’s stepped into the role of school horse for my advancing/confident riders.

Harley has expressive, ground covering gaits, a powerful jump, and (although not shown here, we certainly can!) a cue-able, clean flying lead change. She hacks out by herself or with friends on the buckle, and is overarchingly just a fun girl to hang with.

She would be best suited to someone confident who enjoys a ride with her own motor, interested in pursuing low level jumpers, eventing (probably through BN or .85 jumpers but she’d have to be built up to it), or might even be a fun prospect to produce for a rider thru their USDF bronze.

Harley is reasonably priced and available for full or half lease ONSITE at LilliCrest Farm. I would consider an offsite lease to a prior approved program I’m already familiar with (I would think you know who you are 😅)

I am not big on the use of artificial aids in early training. I like my horses to learn to yield through understanding, not by force, and for the training process to not feel like a trap.

There have been a few select experiences, recently, though, where I have found them to be extraordinarily helpful in a positive way. Often, it comes with a horse that’s been traumatized or frightened by the act of being ridden, itself. In Monday’s case, she’s conformationally a little long, and posturally a little downhill, AND since she was originally started by teenagers who lacked the overarching know-how for a sensitive and smart pony, she learned a pile of avoidant pony tricks that have made her really challenging to encourage to seek harmony in training. It becomes like a perpetually shook soda; really hard to find a quiet second in the noise to reward.

A friend suggested a surcingle and side reins earlier this spring, and as resistant as I felt, I also knew we had taught her to soften in all the right ways, but the addition of the rider added even more anxiety to the conversation. We needed one piece at a time.

So we started 3 weeks ago. Low, loose and slowly shifting up with more boundaries. No rider balance to keep track of, just her own, and harmony lives in her own shift in balance. She’s evolved and grown exponentially.

I think at the end of the day, balance under the bell curve lives in the possibilities, not in absolutes. As soon as you use the expressions “always” or “never”, something comes along and challenges it.

And who better than a sassy, cheeky patchy girl to do it? 😂😂🤎🤍

Our second sale horse feature of the week is Drue ‘s own Dunamis. Fresh off his first horse show, and second time schooling off property, this boy had two educational rounds in the .65 at Red Pine Horse Show Assoc. at Stonegate, going clear and nearly foot perfectly once he recognized that the things crouching in the shade ringside were just people 🤣

Class clown type with tons of potential, “Dunamis” has been raised and produced by a talented and capable young rider every step of the way since he was a yearling. A 2022 Bashkir Curly x Quarter Horse gelding, Duni stands 14.3hh, but is likely to finish 15h or a little over.

This guy is cute, capable, and ready to be someone’s little all around champion. He has 3 lovely gaits, and is doing both gymnastics/course work and schooling XC. He would thrive with a kid or small adult who wants an adventure buddy. He’s smart and very trainable. I personally think he’ll make an awesome event horse as he is brave and inquisitive about new challenges.

This guy is available to be tried by appointment at LilliCrest Farm, and owners are emphatic about the quality of match, first, so flippers or sales programs need not apply.

Fresh off a horse show weekend, it’s time to start refreshing the ads on our , Belle. She showed at the Red Pine Horse Show Assoc. jumpers on Sunday, having 3 educational rounds in the .75 and .85 with a 17 year old junior jockey. She was unbothered by the show environment.

“Lakota Bell” is a 2010 OTTB mare. She stands 16.2hh, and is a big bodied girl.

Belle is:
-Smart
-Sensitive
-Honest
-Outwardly seeks connection
-Loves to Jump
-Simpler Keeper as far as Thoroughbreds go
-Confident on and off property, on XC

I am hopeful we can find for her a home where she’s someone’s personal horse, not one of a string. She is sound to do lots of fun sporty things, is brave out on trails and would be an amazing horse for someone eager to learn about how to utilize dressage to improve and gymnasticize an athlete, in addition to having a safe and effective jumper.

She is absolutely NOT suited to a rank-and-file performance program where she is one of masses, and needs to be the love of someone’s life who enjoys watching HER succeed.

Asking 8🥕🥕🥕, and to the right home and program, there is lots of room to negotiate creatively.
