🐶📍 National Check the Chip Day 📍😺

A collar and ID tag are important—but they can fall off or become unreadable. A microchip gives your dog or cat a permanent form of identification that can help bring them home if they ever get lost.

Here's how to keep your pet's microchip working for them:
✅ Make sure your dog or cat is microchipped.
✅ Keep your contact information up to date with the microchip registry.
✅ Ask us to scan your pet's microchip at their next visit to confirm it's working properly.

A microchip is about the size of a grain of rice, and implantation is quick, safe, and similar to a routine vaccination.

The best time to check your pet's microchip information is before an emergency happens. If you're not sure whether your dog's registration is current or you'd like to have them microchipped, we're here to help!

🐾 Because every lost dog and/or cat deserves the best chance of finding their way home.💕

🎡🐾 State Fair Season Is Here! 🐾🎡

Whether you're heading to the fair or enjoying the festivities from home, don't forget to keep your pets safe and comfortable!

Here are a few fair-time reminders:
🎆 Loud noises and crowds can be stressful for pets—it's often best to leave them at home in a cool, comfortable environment.
🌞 Make sure they have plenty of fresh water and shade, especially on hot summer days.
🍗 Keep fair food out of reach! Corn cobs, turkey bones, fried foods, chocolate, onions, grapes, raisins, and xylitol-containing treats can all be dangerous for pets.
🆔 Check that your pet's ID tags and microchip information are up to date, just in case they slip out while you're away.
🏡 If your pet stays home, leave them with toys, a comfy place to rest, and, if possible, someone to check in on them.

We hope you have a safe and fun State Fair season—and that your four-legged family members do too!

🎠 Are you planning to visit the fair this year? Tell us your favorite fair tradition in the comments!

🦷 National Fresh Breath Day 🐶🐱

Did you know that most dogs and cats show signs of dental disease by age 3? Dental problems don't just cause bad breath—they can lead to pain, tooth loss, and even affect your pet's overall health.

Keep your furry friend's smile healthy by:
✨ Brushing their teeth regularly
✨ Offering veterinarian-approved dental treats or chews
✨ Scheduling routine dental exams
✨ Having professional dental cleanings when recommended

Signs your pet may need a dental check:
🦴 Bad breath
🦴 Yellow or brown tartar buildup
🦴 Red or bleeding gums
🦴 Trouble chewing or dropping food
🦴 Pawing at the mouth

A healthy mouth helps support a healthier, happier life. If your pet is showing signs of dental disease or it's been a while since their last dental exam, give us a call to schedule an appointment! 🩺🐾

🚦🐾 Happy International Traffic Light Day! 🐾🚦

Today we’re celebrating the little signals that help keep our roads safe—and we’re sharing a few “traffic light” reminders for keeping our pets safe, too!

🟢 GO!
✅ Keep walking, playing, and enjoying adventures with your pets!
✅ Stay consistent with wellness exams, vaccines, and parasite prevention.

🟡 SLOW DOWN & CHECK!
⚠️ Watch for changes in your pet’s behavior, appetite, energy, or mobility. Small changes can be important clues about their health.

🔴 STOP & CALL YOUR VETERINARIAN!
🚨 Seek help if your pet shows signs of an emergency, such as trouble breathing, collapse, severe vomiting, seizures, or sudden changes in condition.

Just like traffic lights help guide us safely, regular veterinary care helps keep your pets on the road to a long, healthy life! ❤️🐶🐱

🍉 Happy National Watermelon Day! 🍉

Did you know that watermelon can be a refreshing treat for many dogs in moderation? It's packed with water, making it a great summertime snack—but be sure to remove the seeds and rind first, as they can cause digestive problems.

🐶 Safe for most dogs:
✅ Seedless watermelon
✅ Rind removed
✅ Small bite-sized pieces

🐱 While some cats may be curious, most aren't interested in watermelon, and it's not a necessary part of their diet.

What's your pet's favorite summer treat? Share a photo in the comments—we'd love to see those happy faces! ❤️🐾
