Co-grazing horses and cattle is more common than people think, and when it's managed well it can actually benefit both species. 🐴🐄

Here's what the research shows: cattle and horses selectively graze different plant species and heights, which means they tend to complement each other's grazing patterns rather than directly compete.

If you're running a mixed pasture, your feed store team can help you think through a supplementation plan that works safely for both. 🌾

Watch a foal for five minutes and you'll remember exactly why you love this. 🐴

Everything is new. Every blade of grass, every breeze, every sound from across the pasture. There's a boldness to them that's hard to describe until you've seen it up close.

What's the most memorable foal moment you've ever witnessed? 🤎

End of the day. Herd on pasture. Sun going down. 🌅

There are a lot of reasons people get into raising cattle. But this view right here is usually somewhere near the top of the list.

A herd that's healthy, calm, and well-fed moving across good grass at golden hour is the kind of thing that reminds you what all the early mornings and long days are actually for.

Here's to the ranchers and farmers who made it to another July evening. You earned this view. 😎

Did you know? Goats are one of the few livestock species that can actually die from loneliness. 🐐

Goats are highly social animals that form strong bonds with their herd. A goat kept alone or suddenly separated from a bonded companion can experience significant stress, which directly affects their immune function, appetite, and overall health.

This is why most experienced goat keepers say the minimum is always two. Not because it's more fun (although it is), but because a single goat without companionship is a goat that's working harder just to feel okay.

If you've ever noticed a solo goat going off feed, vocalizing excessively, or losing condition without a clear nutritional reason, companionship is often part of the answer. 🙌

There are mornings on the farm that just stop you in your tracks. 🌿

The light comes through the trees just right. The flock is calm and grazing without a care. The barn chores feel less like a to-do list and more like a rhythm you'd choose even if you didn't have to.

July has a way of slowing things down just enough to let you appreciate what you've built. 🙌

Those white birds walking alongside your horses are not random visitors. They're earning their keep. 🐦🐴

Cattle egrets and similar birds follow large animals specifically to feed on the insects that get stirred up as they graze. For the horses, it's a low-key symbiotic relationship: the birds reduce fly and insect pressure simply by being present.

It's a good reminder that a healthy, well-managed pasture is an ecosystem, not just a feeding space. The more balanced and diverse it is, the better it tends to support the animals living in it.

Seeing egrets in your pasture is generally a sign your grazing rotation and ground cover are in decent shape. 🙌

When heat reduces appetite, consistent mineral intake helps cattle get the nutrients they need.👏
