🐾 Meet Spike! Your Big, Goofy, Loveable Best
Friend! 🤍

Say hello to Spike, a big, handsome white Pit Bull with a huge personality and a tail that never stops wagging!

At 4 years old, Spike is full of energy, loves playing with his favorite toys, and has a goofy side that is sure to make you smile. 🤪

This big boy may be a little overexcited when he first comes out for a walk, but once he settles down, he does well on a leash.

Spike came to us from the Dog Warden and has been waiting for his forever home for over a year. He deserves a chance to find a family who will love him for the wonderful dog he is.🥰

Spike is fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. He would do best in a home without other animals and with older children who can keep up with his energy.

Could you be the one Spike has been waiting for?🏡🐶

He's ready to fill your days with goofy moments, happy tail wags, playtime, and lots of love.❤️

☀️ Meet Sunshine!

Sunshine is a three year old sweet little Chihuahua mix who is ready to find her forever home!

Sunshine came to the Ripley County Humane Society from the Dog Warden. When she arrived, she was dealing with Canine Papillomavirus. Thankfully, it has since gone down, but adopters should be aware that it can flare up again in the future.

This little girl has a personality that lives up to her name! ☀️ Sunshine loves to wag her tail, and she absolutely loves getting attention. She'll happily jump up for pets and soak up all the affection she can get.🥰

We aren't sure yet how Sunshine feels about other dogs, cats, or children, so those introductions will need to be handled carefully and patiently.

Sunshine is spayed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped, so she's ready to start her next chapter with a family who will love her.

☀️ Sunshine is sure to brighten your day-and maybe your whole life! 💛

🐾 PLEASE HELP US SHARE — RIPLEY’S FORGOTTEN DOGS 🐾

We are so excited to announce the launch of a new initiative at Ripley County Humane Society: “Worth the Wait — Ripley’s Forgotten Dogs.”

Thanks to the generous support of the Batesville Eagles Women’s Auxiliary 1130, we are able to offer a reduced $100 adoption fee for some of the wonderful dogs in our care who keep getting overlooked.

❤️ This is NOT an “empty the shelter” campaign.

We love these dogs very much, and our goal isn’t simply to get them adopted quickly. Our goal is to get them noticed.

Some dogs are easy to overlook. They may be older. They may have been with us longer than most. Some aren't thriving in the kennel environment. Others may have special considerations that mean they need a particular type of home.

None of those things make them less deserving.

Worth the Wait is our genuine effort to give these special dogs a chance to be considered alongside the dogs who are traditionally viewed as more adoptable.

Their reduced adoption fee does not mean reduced standards. Every application is subject to review, and our priority will always be finding a home that is a good fit for both the dog and the adopter. Because of this, online applications are strongly preferred.

We are incredibly grateful to the Batesville Eagles Women’s Auxiliary 1130 for the generous donation that has made this initiative possible. Their support is helping us shine a spotlight on dogs who have waited far too long for someone to see just how special they are. ❤️

Over the next several days, we’ll be introducing you to our first Worth the Wait dogs. We’ll also continue adding dogs as we complete their individual profiles and flyers.

🐶 These dogs aren't looking for just any home. They're waiting for the right one.

And we believe they are Worth the Wait. ❤️

📝 Apply online:

Please watch our page, share their stories, and help us make sure Ripley’s forgotten dogs are forgotten no more. 🐾
