I WANT TO ADDRESS AN ISSUE.
I BELIEVE MOST OF YOU HAVE FIXED YOUR PUPS. BUT JUST AN FYI FOR THOSE THAT ARE TOLD BY THESE DAMN VETS NOT TO FIX ESPECIALLY MALES TILL 18 MOS, IF YOU LISTEN TO THEM, YOU WILL HAVE ISSUES. UNNEUTERED MALES CAN BECOME MORE AGGRESSIVE THAN YOU WANT. THEY CAN BECOME STUBBORN, BE FOOD AGGRESSIVE ETC.
ONE OF MY VETS PASSED RECENTLY IN A WRECK HE FIXED ALL WHEN THEY WERE 4 MOS, SOME WILL NOT OTHER ONE WILL AT 6 MOS. YOUR TOLD LET THEM GROW YADA YADA.
TRUST ME WHEN I SAY IT WILL NOT STUNT THEIR GROWTH.
PIKA WAS FIXED AT 4 MOS SHE IS 35" TO HER WITHERS BIGGER THAN BOTH HER PARENTS. I HAVE NEVER HAD A DOG STUNTED BY FIXIN THEM EARLY. IF ANYTHING WERE BIGGER.
I BRING THIS UP CAUSE SOMEONE LISTENED TO VET AND NOW AT 10 MOS THE PUP IS SHOWING PUBERTY AGGRESSION. THE PERSON DID NOT LISTEN TO THEIR GUT AGAINST THE VET, PLEASE ALWAYS TRUST YOUR GUT INSTINCTS. THEIR GOING TO GET THE PUP NEUTERED ASAP.
ONE OTHER THING TO THINK ABOUT: IT'S NEVER A GOOD IDEA TO BRING HOME A DOG OLDER THAN THE DOG/DOGS YOU HAVE. IT CAUSES ALPHA ISSUES, A SENSE THEY LOST THEIR PLACE. THIS CAN COME OUT IN AGGRESSION TOWARDS YOU OR OTHER DOGS.
I HAVE NEVER BROUGHT HOME A DOG THAT'S OLDER THAN WHAT I HAVE IN HOUSE. YES, YOU THE HUMAN ARE THE ALPHA BUT THEIR IS ALWAYS AN ALPHA DOG AND YOU SHOULD NOT KNOCK THEM OFF THAT PECKIN ORDER.
ALSO FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME YOUR NOT BOTHERIN ME BY ASKIN QUESTIONS.
ENG MASTWEILERS ARE EASY GOING BUT THEIR NOT COMPLETE PUSHOVERS.
THEY ARE A GUARD DOG, NEVER DOUBT THAT. YOUR FAMILY AND PROPERTY ARE PROTECTED SO AGAIN WHEN THEY'RE PUPS TAKE THEM TO PUP CLASSES FOR TRAININ AND SOCIALIZATION. THE MORE SOCIAL THEY ARE THE BETTER THEY WILL BE. HAVE HAD A COUPLE FOLKS SAY THE FIRST TIME PUPS SHOWED AGGRESSION IT FREAKED THEM, THEY ARE NOT EVEN A YR YET.
THE ONES THAT HAVE WERE NOT FIXED YOUNGER.
GET YOUR PUPS FIXED BY 6 MOS IF POSSIBLE. IF NOT BEEN DONE YET, DO IT ASAP.
FOOD AGGRESSION --FROM PUPS TAKE BOWL AWAY, SEE WHAT THEY DO THEN GIVE BACK DO THIS CONSISTANTLY SO THEY KNOW YOU CONTROL FOOD NOT THEM. SAME WITH A TOY, A BONE, YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO TAKE AWAY FROM THEM WITHOUT THEM GROWLIN OR SNAPPIN.
WANT TO KNOW HOW TO STOP THIS BEHAVIOR, A MUZZLE FOR 10 MINS THEY DO IT AGAIN ADD 5 MINS. IT WILL BREAK THEM, NEVER ALLOW THIS BEHAVIOR.
ANOTHER MYTH IS DO NOT USE CRATE FOR PUNISHMENT, BULL, I HAVE AND THEY STILL LOVE THEIR CRATE.
THE DOGS I RAISE ARE NOT MEANT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART. YOU MUST BE ABLE TO BE THE BOSS, THESE ARE NOT LIL 7-10LB POODLES.
THESE PUPS WILL BE 120-180LBS MALES ON THE HIGHER SIDE. YOU MUST BE ABLE TO CONTROL THEM. IT'S NOT YOUR SIZE IT'S YOUR PERSONALITY.
I'M IN MY MID 60'S WEIGH A BUCK 20, OUTSIDE OF MY LIL STAFFY MY DOGS ALL OUTWEIGH ME, BUT THEY KNOW WHO THE BOSS IS MAKE NO MISTAKE ABOUT IT. WHEN I SAY COME BET YOUR ASS THEY COME.
WHEN THEY'RE PUPS GET A 30FT LEAD ATTACH IT TO THEM LET THEM RUN TO END TELL THEM COME THEN SLOWLY BRING THEM IN AND YOU DO THAT DAILY TILL ONE DAY THEY COME ON THEIR OWN AND YOU KEEP DOING IT TILL THEY GET IT DONE ALL THE TIME. TURN EM LOOSE AND TRY IF THEY FAIL, BACK ON LEAD. RIGHT AWAY THEY MAKE THE CONNECTION OH I HAVE TO DO THIS OFF LEAD. LOL
RECALL IS THE BIG THING, AND SOME DOGS CAN BE STUBBORN. ROTTIES CAN BE STUBBORN. LAST SUMMER BO WENT TO LAKE KEPT HIM ON 30 FT LEAD. ONE CAUSE HE LOVES THE WATER AND WOULD KEEP SWIMMIN OUT AND OTHER DOGS IF THEY'RE AROUND BEST HE BE ON A LEAD CAUSE HE IS INTACT AND PROTECTIVE.
A LIL COMMON SENSE GOES A LONG WAY. I KNOW LOTS OF FOLKS DO THE BABY TALK TO PUPS TOO, GOOD FOR FUFU DOGS MAYBE BUT NOT MINE.
I NEVER BABY TALK THESE BIG ASS PUPS LOL THEIR GOING TO BE BIG TOUGH DOGS WITH ATTITUDE THAT NEEDS TO BE TAMED DOWN. 1ST THING FIX YOUR DOG AS EARLY AS CAN. YOUR STUPID CITY VETS AIN'T THE ONES DEALIN WITH YOUR DOGS ATTITUDE. HOPE THIS HELPS. 😂
I WILL SAY THAT LILO HAS A LIL MORE DOCILE ATTITUDE THAN MYSTIC DID, BUT I THINK MYSTIC WAS SMARTER OR MAYBE LESS STUBBORN. LILO IS SWEET BUT CAN BE STUBBORN AT TIMES LOL IT'S A MASTIFF THING WHY CROSSIN TO A ROTTIE IS GOOD. ROTTIES MAKE THEM MORE TRAINABLE. 😂🥰

ENG. MASTWEILER INFO-THIS IS A RECOGNIZED BREED IN THE UK, HAS BEEN FOR YEARS.
History
This breed was said to have been developed by a group of dog enthusiasts in Birmingham with the intention of creating a Molosser breed with a large body-buildup. They wanted it to be superior to the English Mastiff in terms of agility, ability to work, guarding skills, and discharging duties assigned by police and military officials were concerned. They also desired dogs that would be well-trained and emerge as good family companions. Therefore, after importing the Rottweiler breed from Germany, they started crossing it with the Bull Mastiffs and most commonly with the English mastiffs.

I believe they preferred the Eng Mastiff over the Bull Mastiff due to Bull Mastiffs tend to be much more aggressive.
Eng Mastiffs are much more laid back and are not aggressive unless need be to protect family.
The Male Mastweilers like with most breeds will tend to be bigger than the females. I'd say they will be anywhere from 27"-30" in height and weigh anywhere from 90-150 lbs more or less.
I do want folks to know that these are not a breed you can be harsh with. If any of you have ever had a Rottie or an Eng. Mastiff they tend to be tender hearted and harsh training will backfire on ya. These breeds do not need harsh training as the 2 breeds want to please you and want you to be happy with them.
The pups of these babies of mine will be good dogs due to the parents temperaments. My Rottie Bo is fun loving, great with kids, farm animals, dogs and cats. His first friends were a baby chick and a cat. His best friend is a 6lb Maltese, whom all my big dogs love, belongs to a good friend of mine. Bo is still young and he is a real laid back Rottie.
My Eng. Mastiff girls are really Laid back, they love to snuggle and watch T.V. They will play some with the other dogs when outside. Lilo will fetch a ball or a frisbee. For the Most part my girls when not outside are couch potatoes lol.
Now, make no mistake about it though as one online trainer has stated Eng Mastiff need no trainin when comes to protecting family, they come with it from the factory. They seem to just know when it's needed. Bo the Rottie has met no enemies to this point he has been well socialized and has not met a person nor dog he hasn't liked when out with him. At home they are watching and will alert someone comin down my farm road, but if I let them know its alright then their fine. I sleep well I am well protected, I have no doubts in my mind these babies of mine have my back, guarantee it.
I have plans to keep one of the pups myself, heck what's one more. If there are enough of them. lol.

Hi TC,
I just wanted to come on your site and let you know how incredibly happy I am with Dexter. He is a furry bundle of joy. He is very smart and is learning as fast as he is growing. He loves meeting other dogs and their owners. The best thing about him is his personality. I was not aware that he would be a “talker”, but he can give any Husky a run for his money when it comes to talking. We go to the dog park 2 times a day to play with other dogs, and when we leave, he will voice his displeasure of leaving for a few minutes while giving me a pouty look. He really is a blessing and has captured everyone‘s heart. I look forward to the next decade with him.
Thank you again for allowing me to have him.
