The Dogwood Animal Shelter has been providing a safe haven for displaced cats and dogs in the Lake Area for over thirty years. The shelter is solely supported by proceeds from the Dogwood Animal Shelter Thrift Shop and by the generous donations from individuals and businesses.

For half a century, Dogwood Animal Shelter has been the heart and sanctuary of the Lake of the Ozarks - rescuing, healing, and advocating for thousands of homeless pets. To celebrate 50 years of second chances, we are throwing our biggest, most glamorous event yet:

As an independent, no-kill, 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Dogwood Animal Shelter receives no state or federal funding. Every ticket sold directly supports our animals with daily care, nutrition, affordable spay/neuter services, and life-saving medical treatment.

Porsche came to us as a 6 week old puppy with 7 others. While they have found their forever homes, Porsche is still waiting for her perfect fit! She is very playful and loves her patio buddies. She loves treats and getting belly rubs. Porsche would thrive in a home where she can grow up and get all the attention she deserves! ❤️

R***r has been with us since May of 2025. He is an older guy with a heart of gold! R***r is very gentle and is friendly with people and dogs. He loves being outside. While he spent most of his life outdoors, he has transitioned indoors very well. R***r is ready to be someones loyal companion! He would thrive in a home where he can live out his golden years and get all the attention he craves. ❤️
