Meet the English Setter. One of Britain's oldest gun dog breeds and, according to the Kennel Club, one of its most at-risk, with fewer than 300 puppies registered annually in the UK for several years running. A breed that can reach 35 miles per hour in the field and is famously gentle at home. Their long feathered ears are beautiful and may require regular veterinary-approved cleaning to prevent recurrent infections. This is a breed worth knowing. 🐾

According to the AVMA, dehydration, heat exposure and skipped preventive care visits are among the leading contributors to summer pet health crises. The fix is simpler than most people think: fresh water always available, shade that is genuinely accessible, walks during cooler hours and a checkup before the heat peaks. Ask us at your next visit and we will make sure your pet is covered. 🐾
