Ten weeks ago, just months before Belle’s 12th birthday, we received the heartbreaking news that she had been diagnosed with lymphoma. She was getting weaker and slowing down, days past our wedding. Like many families who love their pets as more than just animals, it felt as though the ground had been pulled out from underneath us. Belle has been by our side through so many moments in life, always bringing happiness, comfort, and unconditional love. Hearing the diagnosis was devastating, and we knew we were about to begin one of the hardest journeys we’ve ever faced.
Today, only ten weeks later, we are overwhelmed with gratitude and happiness to say that Belle is healthy, happy, and officially in remission. Watching her regain her energy, excitement, and playful personality has been nothing short of amazing. Today, she celebrated her 12th birthday surrounded by the Kat and I, who love her most, and it was a celebration we will never take for granted.
We cannot thank the doctors and staff at Animal Care Cancer Clinic enough for what they have done for Belle and for our family. Their knowledge, compassion, and commitment gave our girl a second chance, and we will forever be grateful. Belle continues to remind us every day to appreciate the little moments, cherish the time we have together, and never lose hope.
