How do you spend your lunch break? Well, today we learned how Elise spends hers… circling the parking lot.

Our hospitalized patient Rollie, from recently had her leg amputated, and since Elise knows how much she loves car rides, she broke her out of the clinic for some fresh air and a little lunchtime cruise.

You may have heard the heartbreaking story from Lake County Florida Animal Shelter, shared by FOX 35 Orlando, WESH 2 News, and WFTV Channel 9, and other local networks about the 85 dogs rescued in Lake County.

Poodle and Pooch Rescue of Florida stepped in to save 17 of these dogs and is now working tirelessly to find loving foster homes for them. We’ve had the privilege of caring for some of these incredible pups, and despite everything they have endured, they are unbelievably loving, gentle, and eager for affection.

We are so grateful to play a small part in this incredible rescue effort and help give these deserving dogs the care, comfort, and love they should have always known.

In honor of National Check the Chip Day, stop by CityVet Lake Nona tomorrow, August 15, from 8 AM–4 PM for a complimentary microchip scan!

No appointment is needed for a quick chip check. We’ll scan your pet and give you a card with:

• Their microchip number
• The microchip company
• The phone number to call and verify your contact information

Already have a chip? Make sure it’s registered with your current phone number and address. Those details could make all the difference if your pet ever goes missing.

We had a BUSY week getting out and about in our Lake Nona community, and we loved every minute of it!

First stop: Yappy Hour at LandonHouse!
What a great community! We had so much fun meeting residents (and, of course, their four-legged family members). If you're looking to relocate to the Lake Nona area, LandonHouse definitely knows how to bring its community together - amenities, social events, pet-friendly fun and so much more!

Next up: Dog Days of Summer at Boxi Park Lake Nona!
We got to pass out some CityVet pet goodies, meet lots of new people and pups, and enjoy one of our favorite local spots. We always love an event where dogs are part of the guest list!

And after all that running around, we decided a little recharge was in order! We stopped by The DRIPBaR Orlando Lake Nona, conveniently right next door to our clinic, for some hydration and an energy boost, exactly what we needed to finish out a busy week!

One of our favorite parts about being CityVet - Lake Nona is getting to know the businesses, residents, pets and communities that make Lake Nona such a great place to call home.

AROUND TOWN TUESDAY - LAKE NONA!!!!

Last week, Dr. Heather was out for a few days, so we wanted to make sure she knew just how much we appreciate everything she does for our team, our patients, and our community.

What better way to celebrate than with a sweet treat from our neighbors at The Naked Cupcake... and they definitely did not disappoint! The excitement even got one of our techs dancing!!! Shout out to Lisa, she made our order to perfection!!

The best part? They even have cupcakes for dogs! Of course, we couldn't resist picking up something for our four-legged patients too!
