To the groomers who take the extra five minutes.
Who notice the weird little spot.
Who sit on the floor with the nervous dog.
Who change the plan when an old dog has had enough.
Who keep learning even after years behind the table.
THAT stuff matters. 🤍
The haircut is only part of the job.
Keep doing right by the dogs in front of you.

Due to higher costs for supplies and the economy I have had no choice but to increase prices.

Some senior dogs still bounce into the grooming room like puppies. Others need a slower start, a quiet moment to settle, and permission to have a less ambitious day. Both are okay.

Comfort-focused grooming means paying attention to what the dog is communicating in real time. It may mean breaks, changing position, simplifying a style, or deciding that clean feet, a comfortable face, and a sanitary area matter more today than a perfectly finished outline.

That is why an older dog's grooming plan should stay flexible. Breed, coat, mobility, health history, and how that individual dog is feeling all matter. The owner brings the day-to-day picture; the groomer brings a professional eye for what can be done gently and safely in that visit.

The goal is never to push through simply because something was on the original plan. The goal is to care well for the dog who showed up.

A flexible plan can be one of the kindest gifts we give an aging dog.
