Hey DK9 family anyone that feeds purina one and Purina pro plan please please please check your bags. We have had several bags come to us with these tiny worms that turn into moths and and also has little beetles in the food. The worms are loose but also in the kibble so please double check. We are NOT keeping these bags in the facility as they are going into the dumpster to make sure we keep them out of the facility.

One of the most important behaviors we can teach a dog is place—especially for dogs that struggle to settle down and relax.

Many dogs today are constantly on the go. They are always looking for the next thing to do, reacting to every sound, following us around the house, or demanding attention. While exercise and training are important, many of these dogs are actually missing a critical life skill: the ability to do nothing.

Teaching a place behavior gives dogs a clear job. It creates structure, helps them learn impulse control, and teaches them how to relax even when exciting things are happening around them. Instead of pacing, barking, jumping on guests, or constantly seeking attention, they learn that it’s okay to simply settle and observe.

For anxious, over-aroused, or high-energy dogs, place work can be life-changing. It helps lower stress, builds confidence, and teaches them how to regulate themselves without us constantly managing every behavior.

Remember, a tired dog isn’t always a calm dog. Sometimes what they need most is to learn how to switch off and relax.

Check out Mello working on his place behavior. When Mello first came to us, settling down and relaxing was difficult for him. Through consistency, clear communication, and lots of practice, he’s learning that being calm is just as important as being active. Place isn’t just about staying on a bed—it’s about learning patience, self-control, and how to be calm in a busy world.

Sometimes the best thing we can do for dogs in training is let other dogs help teach them.

Yep, check these pups out helping each other work through being terrified of a bike. Dogs learn a lot from watching other dogs stay calm, confident, and neutral in situations they struggle with.

Building confidence isn’t always about forcing dogs through fear — sometimes it’s about creating the right environment and letting them see that the world isn’t so scary after all. Small wins turn into big progress when we stay patient and consistent.

Check out trainer Nicole working with Gypsy on her e-collar recalls. This is something that takes time, consistency, and patience. We’re not just putting an e-collar on her and pressing buttons — we’re building a positive association with the collar while helping Gypsy understand and respond to low-level communication.

Proper e-collar conditioning is about clear communication, trust, and teaching the dog what the pressure means, not forcing behaviors. Gypsy is making great progress!”
