Puppy shot day! We have a couple of camera hogs here too. They’re all so cute and sweet. We have maybe 4 spoken for but that means we still have 5 more who need foster to adopt. They are 7 weeks old today. Pups will be officially under foster until they are old enough to be spayed/neutered and then the adoption will be official! ❤️🐶 Ask us for an application!

Would anyone be willing to foster a Maltese/poodle mix boy? His hair is such a huge matted mess so he will need groomed and I’ll also have to take to the vet for vaccines first.

I want to think about our happy weekend for a minute. Another Ethridge cousin wedding we wouldn’t have missed for the world! ❤️ Dogs are a huge part of our family. Dottie Ethridge was, of course, included! 🐶

When we take in seniors, we know they probably won’t be here for long, so we make sure they’re comfortable, safe and loved. ❤️

We lost Trixie, our hospice girl, Thursday, and tonight we lost another one of our old babies. I thought he had more time too. 😭 I was holding him and I hope he felt nothing but love.

Losing two in less than 4 days is just more than our hearts can take, but thank God we were chosen to save them.

We have a very sweet Covey Hill volunteer in desperate need of these test strips for her diabetic cat. I thought it would be worth a try to see if anyone has some she can have until she can get her order. ❤️ Please let us know if you have any you can spare for her and her baby!

Sweet Trixie! We all thought you had more time. You were loved by so many and we just really met you not long ago.

Thank you to our foster, Sherry Kretzer and family, for loving her and her daughter Sandy, and her four puppies. She was comfortable and safe. Sandy and her 4 puppies are still in their home and they’re loved just as much. We would have never been able to save these babies without the Kretzer family opening up their hearts and home. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.

I will have to say, no matter how many times we have to make this hard decision to let a baby go, it never gets easier. We have cried many tears today, and we’re still not done.

Trixie will be cremated by our new friends, Shiloh Pet Cremation. We have always buried our Covey babies at the rescue but thought it may be time to look into cremation instead. Miss Tami was so helpful and understanding during this tough morning and we look forward to working with her again if the time comes. I hope it doesn’t for a long time. All of our Covey Hill babies are so loved and it doesn’t matter how long or how short we’ve had them.

Please keep sweet Trixie in your prayers. She’s all of a sudden not doing well. 😭We will be going to the vet in the morning.

She has been with a wonderful foster family, along with her daughter Sandy and her 4 puppies. We got the news she had mammary gland tumors and decided to let her live out the rest of her life in a loving home. ❤️
