Humans aren't the only ones who need mental health support! 🧠 Your dog's mental wellness is crucial to their overall health and wellbeing.

Here are a few ways you can support your dog's mental wellness:
🐾Make sure your dog gets plenty of safe socialization with other dogs and humans alike
🐾Learn more about your dog's body language so you can become more attuned to the needs they're expressing
🐾Allow your dog freedom of movement within their home and yard (within reason) to foster a sense of agency
🐾Never force your dog into uncomfortable situations, i.e. forcing them to be petted or to greet another animal if they're showing any reluctance
🐾Regularly offer mental stimulation, from snuffle mats to teaching new tricks

May is National Water Safety Month! 🏊
While everyone knows of the "doggy paddle," not all dogs love to swim. If you're trying to take your dog for a dip in the pool or at the beach, here are a few safety tips to keep in mind:

🐾Start off in the shallow area. Let your dog set the pace of when they want to move into deeper waters.
🐾Stay in the water with your dog and help them learn how to float. Always supervise your pup, even if they've proven their swimming ability.
🐾If your dog doesn't want to swim, don't force them--it'll probably discourage them from wanting to swim in the future.
