152 days at the cafe and still writing her own story one whisker twitch at a time. Coming from a colony of fifty, it makes sense that trust takes time to build, but look at those eyes taking everything in. She's not just waiting to be adopted, she's quietly deciding you're worth the risk too.

Happy Caturday from The Kitty Beautiful! 🐾

We are starting the weekend with some wonderful news: Count was adopted yesterday, becoming #1,211 in our history. This little guy came in to the rescue a few months ago as a terrified kitten who had never really known people. We are so excited for him to find his new forever home. He was at the cafe for 25 days. Someone figured out that he needed to come home with them. We agree completely.

Happy Friday from Pesky! 🐾

That face. We cannot get over that face.

Pesky has been with us for 132 days, which tells you something important: she is looking for the right home, not just any home. She spent two years with a family who loved her before life changed for them in ways that had nothing to do with her. That kind of change takes some processing, and Pesky is doing exactly that, in her own time, on her own terms.

She is shy when she first meets you. She is not a loud, in-your-face kind of cat. But she is sweet, and if you are the kind of person who appreciates a cat who chooses you thoughtfully rather than immediately, she might be exactly who you have been looking for.

Fall is shaping up to be a big one at The Kitty Beautiful, and we want to make sure you have all the dates! 🐾

First, if you haven't tried Twelve at Twelve yet, here's your reminder: every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from noon to 1pm, cat time is just $12. That's a full hour with the cats for less than a lot of lunches. It runs all fall, so there's no rush — but there's also no reason to wait.

On September 20th, Bongo is hosting Tea Time — high tea service in the cat lounge with our very distinguished house cat presiding over the whole affair. It's exactly as delightful as it sounds.

Then on September 29th, we've got Cats Against Humanity — Cards Against Humanity in the cat lounge at 7pm. Adults only, cats included, chaos guaranteed.

And saving the biggest for last: Halloween Hairy Nights is coming on October 28th and 29th at 6pm. More details coming soon, but you already know it's going to be a good time.

She has been with us for 105 days now, which is a long time, and she would like you to know that she has handled it with remarkable grace and good humor. Bubbalicious came from a colony outside, wandered into a trap one day, and by her own account has never looked back. Warmth. Food that just appears. People who want to pet her. She is fully converted.

Connie found her forever home today. 🧡

This beautiful long-haired tortie spent 65 days here with us, and she made every one of them count. She came to us after being found on a porch in Sanford with her newborn kittens, which she took wonderful care of. Once they were ready, it was her turn.

Connie has one very specific love language: brushing. Get out a brush and she is completely yours. Today someone clearly spoke her language, because she is adoption #1,210 in The Kitty Beautiful's history and she is heading home.

We have two new faces joining us today! Please say hello to Wilma and Stetson. 🐾

Wilma is a sweet and friendly girl who was found wandering the streets of Kissimmee until a kind person made sure she got somewhere safe. She loves people and warms up fast. She is still getting her bearings with the other cats, but she is working on it and we have every confidence in her.

Stetson has a story worth telling. This gorgeous grey and white domestic medium hair was found in a Walmart parking lot right behind a bank. He has had a home before and he knows how good it can be. He loves gentle pets and finding cozy spots to tuck himself into. He is sweet, calm, and very ready.

Today is Star Trek Day! September 8th marks the 60th anniversary of the very first Star Trek episode, and we could not let it pass without celebrating the cats of The Kitty Beautiful who boldly went to their forever homes.

We're often asked if we, the owners of The Kitty Beautiful, have ever adopted any cats ourselves. The answer is a resounding YES!

Over the years, we've had the joy of adopting four cats from The Kitty Beautiful, and each one holds a special place in our hearts.

🐾 Jillie-Brie, adopted 1/31/2020. She is Bongo's sister, and having her with us has been such a gift.

🐾 Trelaina, adopted 1/31/2021. She was our original resident cat, the one who patiently taught Bongo everything he knows.

🐾 Hopper, adopted April 10, 2025. He is forever in our hearts, and we are so grateful for the time we had with him.

🐾 Wash, adopted April 9, 2026. Our newest family member, and we can't wait to see what adventures lie ahead.

These four remind us every single day why we do what we do. Rescue isn't just something we facilitate, it's something we live. 🧡

Night Night from the Kiddos is live from The Kitty Beautiful in downtown Orlando and we have some new faces to introduce tonight, including one you might actually recognize.

Stetson is back. He was adopted in May and we were so happy for him, but his human developed a serious allergy and bringing him back was the only option. It was not anyone's fault and it was clearly not an easy decision, but here he is, and now we get to find him the forever home he deserves. Welcome back, sweet boy. We have got you.

We also welcomed Wilma today, one year old and full of mystery because we just met her. We cannot wait to get to know this girl and we will absolutely keep you posted as her personality unfolds.

On the lounge front tonight: Pumpkin Spice Girl is tucked behind the books living her best mysterious literary life. Leo is completely passed out in a hammock with zero apologies. Bongo is looking absolutely dapper in his black and white tie, as one does. And Heather got Amber's name right on the first try, which felt worth documenting.

Now we want to take a moment for Tilly. She had a hold on her but unfortunately the adoption did not go through, which means this eight year old sweetheart is available again. Here is Tilly's story and we want you to really hear it. She was adopted as a kitten and then abandoned. She survived outdoors for a few years before being trapped and eventually making her way to us. Her adoption fee is only $50 because she is a senior, and what she needs more than anything is a home that will not leave her. She is young at heart, she is wonderful, and she has already been through so much. If you or anyone you know might be her person, please reach out. She has waited long enough for someone to choose her and mean it.

They have claimed every square inch of the back window area and are fully committed to their sunshine routine. We are not going to argue with them.

Salina has reviewed tomorrow's schedule and has some notes.

After careful consideration of the keyboard, the notebook, and the general vibe, she has determined that Sunday should start a little later. We agree. We have a private event in the morning, so we will be opening at 1pm tomorrow instead of our usual noon. We will still close at 6pm as usual.

Shaylene found her home. 🧡

She came to us six days ago, a quiet and gentle girl from Ocala who had spent her recent months raising two kittens and making sure they were ready for the world. She did that job beautifully, and then it was her turn.

She didn't need long. Today Shaylene is adoption #1,209 in The Kitty Beautiful's history, and she is off to the softer chapter she absolutely earned.

Jac and Heather are on deck tonight to introduce you to our 25 residents. Yep, 25! We started the day at 26, but Edith got ADOPTED! 🎉 And here's the best part: Edith is going to have a sister named Scissors, who was previously adopted from TKB! Be still our hearts.

Oh, and true story: While we were literally typing this post, we had ANOTHER adoption... Shaylene! 😭🙌

Tonight's highlights:

🎂 It's Chad's 1st BIRTHDAY! Heather's been telling everyone it was the 6th all week, but turns out it's actually today, September 5th. Happy birthday, sweet Chad!

✨ We take a minute to just admire Batgirl's fur, because she is a literal galaxy cat. There is nothing else like her on this earth.

🐱🐱 Amber and her brother Jasper are hanging out together tonight, being adorable as always. Fair warning: Heather keeps calling Amber "Autumn." She means Amber. We promise.

🎭 And a special shoutout: Our very own Jac is performing tonight AND tomorrow at Breakthrough Theatre! Go support her and the rest of the cast if you can, it'll be a great show.

Edith found her person. 🧡

This little dilute tortie girl spent 23 days here doing things entirely on her own terms. She was the more cautious of the two sisters who came in together, always watching, always assessing, letting you earn her trust before she'd give it. That's just who she is, and honestly, we respected it.

Today she's adoption #1,208 in The Kitty Beautiful's history, heading home with someone who clearly passed her test.

You've been waiting all day for this moment... the recap of tonight's livestream "Night Night from the Kiddos," brought to you from The Kitty Beautiful, 360 State Lane, downtown Orlando, FL! 🌙🐾

Quick behind the scenes moment: Jac was here earlier and ready to tuck everyone in, but Heather was feeling a little sad and didn't have it in her tonight, so Jac headed out. As we were closing up though, I (Heather) couldn't bear to let down the folks who love these livestreams... so here we are!

No adoptions or new faces today, but 26 fabulous felines kept us plenty entertained.

🐱 Salina had herself a cozy nap on someone's laptop AND notebook. Pretty sure that person didn't get much work done, but Salina got some excellent zzzzz's in.

🧡 Leo Connor was out here being the ultimate Romeo, climbing into laps and promptly falling asleep in them. He's only 6 months old and already oozing charm from every strand of fur.

🧡 Not to be outdone, fellow orange boy Chad has been spreading his own joy today too. Both Leo and Chad would thrive in a home with kids, cats, and dogs. Chad turns 1 year old this Sunday, and honestly? The best birthday present would be a forever family.

A huge thank you to the kind soul who donated Sheba Cuts in Gravy for Batgirl. Money is always tight around here, so having someone step up for our special diet kiddos means everything.

And to the wonderful woman who dropped off a seriously cool litter box enclosure... yes, litter box enclosures can be cool. We get excited about the weirdest things here: new litter scoops, quail egg yolks, and cleaning solution that actually works on cat urine.

Fun fact: you can play calming music for cats on streaming services. Mornings around here mean the Ludovico Einaudi Radio on Pandora, and the cats seem to genuinely dig it.
