Today we’re celebrating someone who has been an elemental part of our S**O family for many years.

Megan’s work ethic, attention to detail, and genuine admiration for animals show in everything she does. Whether she’s caring for one of our patients, keeping the countless details of a busy hospital on track, or simply being there when someone needs her, she brings a level of dedication and compassion that we’ve come to depend on.

We’re excited to introduce Angie, one of the newest members of the S**O Veterinary Hospital family! Angie joined our team this year as she works toward her goal of becoming a licensed veterinarian. Her passion for animal care, dedication to learning, and extensive experience handling and treating cats have already made her an incredible asset to our hospital.

Today, her beautiful Dalmatian, Bella, stopped by for her annual wellness visit. After getting caught up on her care, Bella decided to stick around and relax in our lobby—and judging by that comfy pose, we think she feels right at home! 🐶💙

“Two years ago on Memorial Day, Dr. Patino rescued and adopted Memo — a little dog whose world had barely existed outside four walls. Like many ‘COVID dogs,’ Memo spent his first 3 years indoors, making nearly every sound, face, and experience feel brand new and overwhelming.

At first, trust was hard. New people were scary. Even moments like this photo would have been impossible during his first year with us. But little by little, with patience, love, and consistency, Memo found his confidence.

Today, our team is more than staff to him — we’re family. And while every day still brings new challenges, Memo continues to show us what resilience, healing, and unconditional love look like.

His name was chosen in honor of Memorial Day, making today not only a time to remember and honor those who served, but also a special reminder of second chances, compassion, and the power of giving a scared soul a home. ❤️🇺🇸

Honoring Dr. Juan Patiño ❤️🐾

Today we celebrate an incredible milestone for someone who means so much to our hospital and our community—Dr. Juan Patiño.

On April 1, 1994, Dr. Patiño joined Kirkpatrick Veterinary Hospital as an associate under Dr. Tim Bowser. What began as a new chapter over 30 years ago has become a lifelong commitment to caring for pets and the people who love them.

For decades, Dr. Patiño has been a constant presence—growing alongside our hospital as it evolved into S**O Veterinary Hospital, and witnessing firsthand the transformation of Orange Avenue and the surrounding community.

Through it all, his dedication has never changed. He has built lasting relationships with generations of families, cared for countless patients, and helped shape the heart of what our hospital is today.

Dr. Patiño is incredibly proud of the work he’s done—but even more grateful. Grateful for the trust, the loyalty, and the continued support from a community that has stood by him for over three decades.

This milestone isn’t just about time—it’s about impact, connection, and a legacy of care.

As his son, I feel incredibly blessed to have learned so much from him—not just about veterinary medicine, but about business, perseverance, and what it truly means to have a strong work ethic.
