It is with a heavy heart that I must announce, after serving the pets of Central Florida for over 35 years, Animal Veterinary Hospital of Orlando will be closing our doors later this year.
I have been trying for the last 2 years to sell the hospital. There have been many interested individuals and corporations, however the property value is just too high for anyone to be able to get a loan to cover the property. That combined with my inability to find/hire people who will pay attention to their work, has made the last few years very stressful on me. I will truly miss all of my patients as well as many of my clients, but the time has come for me to put my own personal health first. Animal Veterinary Hospital of Orlando (AVHO) will continue to operate under normal conditions through Labor Day Weekend.
Starting September 7th, AVHO will have new operating hours. Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday the hospital will be open from 8am until noon. There will be staff members on property, answering the phones, making copies of medical records and seeing technician based appointments (nail trims, a**l gland expression, ear cleaning, and suture removals). On Wednesday from 8am until noon, Friday from 8am until 6pm and Saturday from 8am until noon we will have normal appointments just like always. All surgeries will be scheduled on Fridays. We will also be booking all day on Friday to insure as many patients can be seen as possible.
Again Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 8-noon, Technician appointments.
Wednesday, Friday and Saturday normal hours and normal operation.
Rest assured, I am not retiring! I will be taking my talents slightly south, and joining Dr James Barnett at the Osceola Animal Emergency Hospital, located at 2611 West Vine Street in Kissimmee. While the name suggests it, this is NOT an emergency hospital, it is a regular daytime hospital that also sees emergencies. Starting on Sunday, September 7th, I will be working Sunday, Monday and Tuesday from 8am-6pm every week. For those interested, you can absolutely transfer your records to new hospital and continue having me take care of your pets.
I wish you all the best and hope that we can all navigate this transitional phase together.
