We are seeing a sudden rise in laminitis cases! Especially those horses with underlying metabolic diseases, such as PPID (equine Cushing's) or insulin resistance. Due to the spiking sugar that will only continue into the Fall, we highly recommend restricting their access to pasture entirely, or using a muzzle (depending on what your veterinarian recommendations for your individual horse).

If you are concerned that your horse may have laminitis (common early signs are resistance to walk forward, walking "stiff" or "choppy", or leaning back off of front feet) please contact us sooner than later, as early treatment can be key to effectively getting control of laminitis.
