Orangeburg County Animal Control and Shelter serves the citizens of Orangeburg County South Carolina, helps to educate the public and enforce County ordinances on animal welfare. Orangeburg County Animal Control and Shelter is responsible for picking up animals in the county that are lost or homeless. We strive to get animals into rescues by working with rescue groups to find placement of these animals. We work to ensure that animals in the entire county are being treated properly and this includes investigating cruelty charges and working with law enforcement to prosecute these cases. Please note that this shelter does not adopt to the public, but if you’re interested in one of our animals, we invite you to fill out an adoption application through a 501c-3 rescue or local rescue such as the Orangeburg SPCA and they will review your adoption process from there.

Update: RESCUE SECURED 👏

🚨🍼 URGENT RESCUE NEEDED — FOUR BOTTLE BABY KITTENS! 🍼🚨

💔 Sometimes the smallest lives need the biggest helping hands.

Four tiny black-and-white kittens were found near Cannon Bridge Road and Highway 301 beside their deceased mother. These little ones weigh only about 0.4–0.6 pounds each and are at a very vulnerable stage of life.

🐾 These babies need urgent rescue placement! Without their mother, bottle babies require frequent feedings, warmth, and around-the-clock care to have the best chance at survival.

🙏 We are desperately hoping to find someone who can step up for these four little lives. An experienced bottle-baby foster, rescue organization, or knowledgeable caregiver could make all the difference in their future.

❤️ They didn't ask to be born into these circumstances, and they deserve the opportunity to grow, thrive, and one day find loving homes.

If you have experience caring for neonatal kittens or are a rescue able to take them, please reach out to Orangeburg County Animal Control and Shelter for assistance.
📧 Email our Rescue Coordinator at [email protected].

Please SHARE, TAG rescues, and help us get these babies the attention they urgently need. Every share could connect them with someone who can save their lives. 🐱💕

UPDATE: RESCUE SECURED

🚨💔 URGENT RESCUE NEEDED FOR BEAUTY

Sometimes life changes in ways no one could have ever prepared for. Today, sweet Beauty is looking for a new beginning through no fault of her own. 🥺🐾

Beauty is an older girl, estimated to be around 6 years old or older, weighing approximately 47.5 pounds. She is a sweetheart who deserves a safe place to land, a soft place to rest, and someone willing to open their heart to her.

💔 Her story is especially heartbreaking.

Beauty's owner absolutely loved her, but due to an extended hospital stay and the need for continued care, they are no longer able to care for her. This wasn't a matter of simply not wanting her anymore. Sometimes circumstances change, and the ones we love are left needing help.

Now, Beauty is the one who needs someone to step up for her.

Beauty is Heartworm Positive, and she will need a rescue willing to help her receive the veterinary care and treatment she deserves. We know her medical needs may make finding placement more difficult, but we hope someone will look beyond that diagnosis and see the sweet girl who still has so much love to give. ❤️

🙏 BEAUTY NEEDS A RESCUE ASAP!

She has already experienced a heartbreaking change in her life. Now, we want to help her find a safe, loving place where she can receive care, feel secure, and have a chance at a brighter future.

🏡 Can your rescue be Beauty's saving grace?

📢 PLEASE SHARE BEAUTY'S STORY! Someone out there may be able to give this sweet girl the second chance she needs.

She is still someone's beloved girl. She still deserves love. And she still deserves a chance. 💗🐾
