When people hear “dog walk,” they often think exercise.
But today’s walk was about so much more than that 🐾
Kobe is a lovely one-year-old doodle who hasn’t always been the most confident dog. So while she absolutely got physical exercise today, that wasn’t the biggest win.
The biggest wins were:
✅ Walking calmly alongside other dogs instead of bouncing all over them
✅ Crossing different types of bridges with rushing water and unfamiliar textures under-paw
✅ Walking through a tunnel with echoes
✅ Passing barking dogs and practising calm responses
✅ Exploring new environments and building confidence with every step
These might seem like small things, but for some dogs they’re huge achievements.
That’s why I always say our walks are about more than getting dogs from A to B.
They’re about enrichment.
They’re about confidence.
They’re about social skills.
They’re about helping dogs learn how to navigate the world successfully.
And when you start looking at walks this way, you realise a fulfilled dog isn’t just a tired dog 💛
