The Pack Walk Statistics Department has been working overtime. 📊🐾

Two walks have officially been analysed and the results are in…

🕰️ 120 minutes of adventures
📍 2 locations: Lake Forest Park + Cherry Park
📸 6 photoshoots
💩 Too many p**ps to count
🐦‍⬛ 1 murder of crows
🙌 4 “You’ve got your hands full!”
👋 Lots of friendly good mornings
🐕 Lots of successful dog passes
😬 1 off-leash dog avoided
💧 Plenty of water breaks despite the much cooler weather

The biggest development is that we have officially retired p**p statistics due to overwhelming workload. 😂💩

We also discovered a group of very loud crows and love their group name… a murder of crows.

Meanwhile, the pack calmly passed lots of dogs, enjoyed two different locations and received plenty of smiles and good mornings along the way.

Final scientific conclusion: cooler mornings + new places + happy dogs = a pretty successful couple of days. 🌿🐾

Research will continue after the weekend… 📊😂

Today’s Pack Walk has been analysed and the results are in. 📊🐾

🕰️ 60 minutes
💩 7 p**ps (43% of Snickers)

💛 Sooooo many “Good Pups said (mostly at Mopan)
🐿️ Approximately 100+ rabbits & squirrels*
🙌 2 “You’ve got your hands full!”
🐕 2 lovely calm dog passes
😬 1 slightly less successful encounter

*Numbers have not been independently verified.

Snickers continues to dominate the p**p statistics and even treated us to his signature standing-up, one-leg-off-the-floor technique. 💩😂

We also had two fantastic encounters where everyone calmly passed each other and carried on with their day.

Then came encounter number three.

I moved the pack to the side to create space. The other owner started bringing his dog towards us, so I politely said:

“No thank you, we don’t do greetings.”

Apparently this was controversial because “they’re dogs!” 😂

But four dogs + one handler + an unfamiliar dog = an unnecessary situation I’m simply not going to create.

My favourite part?

His wife seemed to know exactly where this conversation was heading, shook her head and started walking away as soon as it all started 🤦🏼‍♀️

Final scientific conclusion:

💩 Snickers remains top p**per.
🐿️ The squirrels & rabbits remain undefeated.
🐾 And Pack Walk boundaries remain firmly in place.

Today’s Pack Walk has been analysed and the results are in. 📊🐾

🕰️ 60 minutes

🚲 10-ish bikes
🐶 2 cute puppies
📸 3 photo stops
🎵 1 very cheerful cyclist

And apparently 50% of today’s p**p production came from one dog.

Looking at you, Snickers. 💩😂

Most interestingly, our research also found a significant correlation between Cami being nearby and Snickers suddenly becoming even more of a model during the photoshoots!

Further investigation will be required. 🍫🤎💛

Apparently we’re calling everything “kind of chic” now…

So naturally I had to make it about dogs. 😂🐾

But underneath the trend, these are actually some of my favourite benefits of pack walks.

🐶 Carefully matched doggy friends
🌿 Midweek adventures while you’re working
🧠 Confidence building + positive socialisation
🐾 Learning calm behaviour around other dogs
👃 New trails, smells and enrichment
📸 And plenty of photos so you can put your phone away when you walk them later 😂

Because a dog walk can be so much more than getting from A to B.

Exercise. Enrichment. Socialisation. Confidence. Adventure.

Now that is kind of chic. ✨

🐝 Your dog just got stung by a bee… would you know what to do?

When Zed was a puppy, he made the questionable decision to investigate a bee… with his mouth. 🤦‍♀️😂

His lip quickly started swelling and, thankfully, he was absolutely fine but bee and wasp stings can sometimes be much more serious.

🐝 Watch for swelling, excessive licking, drooling or discomfort.
🚨 Difficulty breathing, collapse or severe/rapid swelling = emergency vet.
☎️ Call your vet for advice.

Hopefully you’ll never need this post but SAVE it just in case. 🐾

Has your dog ever been stung?

Your dog doesn’t need to PLAY with other dogs to benefit from them. 🐾

That’s one of the biggest misconceptions I see around dog socialisation.

On our Pack Walks, I’m not looking for dogs to constantly interact.

I’m looking for something much more valuable:

🐾 Walking calmly alongside carefully matched dogs
🐾 Learning that another dog doesn’t automatically mean PLAY!
🐾 Practising neutrality around other dogs
🐾 Exploring new trails, smells and environments
🐾 Building confidence through new experiences
🐾 Getting physical exercise AND mental enrichment

And there’s another benefit I absolutely love…

Dogs learn from each other.

A less confident dog can watch a calm, confident pack member cross a bridge, explore somewhere new or simply settle beside another dog and realise:

“Maybe this isn’t so scary after all.”

That’s why my groups are deliberately kept small and carefully matched.

Because a Pack Walk shouldn’t just be several dogs walking at the same time.

It should add something to each dog’s life. 🌿

You wouldn’t train for a marathon the day before the race… so don’t wait until you NEED a behaviour to teach it. 🐶🏃‍♀️

Start small.
Practise often.
Build good habits early.
Make things harder gradually.

Those tiny 5-minute puppy training moments add up to something pretty big. 🐾

A little look at life behind the dog walks lately… 🐾🤍

Last week was one of those weeks where business + family + life all got mixed together, and I actually love sharing these little glimpses because there’s a whole lot happening behind Happy Paws that you don’t always see on the grid.

🇬🇧 Our very close friends surprised us from England
🎤 The girls went to their FIRST concert… Ed Sheeran!
🎒 Back-to-school life officially began
🐕 I volunteered at the shelter for the first time since completing my training
🐾 Miso + Mochi came over for a playdate
🚀 Rocket + Mopan got us back out on the trails

A very full week, but a very good one. 🤍
