I’m excited to announce that the official CARES website is now live!

I created CARES—Caring for Animals Through Resources, Education, and Support—to help expand access to veterinary care, education, and essential resources for underserved families and their pets.

Our mission is centered on preserving the human-animal bond and helping people continue caring for the animals they love, even during difficult circumstances.

Throughout Black Philanthropy Month, we’ll also be introducing the incredible members of our advisory board.

Still living on cloud 9 from National Association for Black Veterinarians and especially for reconnecting with Dr. Paige Carmichael! The woman who cultivated, nurtured and helped with my matriculation into Tuskegee University, College of Veterinary Medicine - our last time connecting was at University of Georgia graduation in 2011’. 😊🥹

I was a determined student who was always at University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine learning and sponging as much information as I could between classes!

Her talk at the conference was amazing, and her slide on how both universities shaped her resonated heavy with me! We both learned from these great institutions, we learned how to be amazing - regardless of the circumstance or where life takes us.

Whether you’re at a PWI, HBCU or had both experiences like us! Each will shape and prepare you in different ways!
