We feel like we need to put this out there…. Lately we have noticed quite a few posts on the classified pages and the local grievance page asking “how do I get rid of cats.”
We are sickened and shocked with many of these responses: antifreeze, trapping & dumping them and shooting them seem to be responses of quite a few people…. These people are our neighbors & community members.
If you have the option to keep your cats indoors and protected, we strongly suggest you do.
These people don’t care if these cats have families or are feral.
We really seem to be lacking compassion and kindness when it comes to outdoor and community cats.
The community cats didn’t choose the life they are living, many have been let down by the human race and some will now die at their hands.
These cats don’t deserve to die, whether they have a family or not. Just because we can’t touch them, doesn’t mean they aren’t loved or cared for.
Supporting TNR stops the breeding and it WORKS!! Be part of the solution!!
Please spay/neuter your pets and do what you can to protect them!!
Every missing cat post breaks our hearts, we are thankful for the ones that are reunited with their families, but makes us so sad for the ones that never come home and for their families that never know what happened to them.
If your cat is family, please do what you can to protect them.
