Yes, another raptor project! This bald eagle, protected and listed under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, will go to a permitted Native American. They only received the wings and tail but I will clean and preserve them for the owner to further embellish in a traditional manner.

This saw-whet owl brought its own fun list of challenges. The tape, a combination of a water soluble medical tape and duct tape, was wrapped around the chest of the bird. There is a large area of missing feathers, presumably a brood patch. Other missing feathers, a broken wing, and a bird the size of a dollar bill despite an itty bitty body complete with the weirdness of of raptor anatomy and here we are. Nicole Griewahn
