🧡 UPDATE ON ANGIE 🧡

I am so incredibly happy to share that Angie is SAFE tonight.

We did a meet and greet this evening, and everything went beautifully. She is now in a home, already getting comfortable going in and out, getting on the couch, and starting to relax and just be a dog again. 🐾

The sweetest part — her new foster is hoping for a “foster fail” if everything continues to go well with her dog, which is already off to a great start.

No matter what, Angie is now safe, loved, and has a bright path forward.

Thank you to everyone who shared, reached out, and cared about her — it truly made a difference. 🧡

🧡 UPDATE: Angie is SAFE in a loving home and settling in beautifully. She’ll be getting follow-up veterinary care to evaluate her jaw and continue healing. We’re so grateful to everyone who shared and helped her get here. Thank you 🧡

🚨 URGENT – NEED SAFE PLACE TODAY 🚨

It’s been about 2 weeks since we got involved with Angie, abandoned by her owner and shot in the face by the landlord. 🤬 She has been doing really well—antibiotics are working and she’s recovering.

Now we’re at the next step—she needs X-rays to make sure nothing is still lodged and that she can continue healing properly. We have the funds and are ready to take her to the vet as soon as today—but I need a safe place for her to go after.

She cannot go back to where she’s currently staying. Another dog on the property was recently shot in the leg, and if she ends up outside while he’s around, she is not safe. 💔

Angie is about 30 lbs, a petite heeler mix, very sweet, and good with both dogs and cats. She just needs a safe place to land—even short-term.

If you can foster, know someone who can, or can help in any way, please message me ASAP.

📍Located in the Lake Livingston area, about an hour and a half north of Houston, but willing to coordinate transport

Even a short-term foster could save her—please message me 🧡

Y’all… we get calls and messages about animals needing help almost every day. We live in one of the most under-resourced counties in Texas when it comes to animal welfare.

We do what we can, when we can… but every now and then one comes along that’s just bigger than what we can handle alone — and this is one of those.

💔 She survived being shot… now she just needs a chance to heal. Please!

This is Angie. A heeler mix in East Texas who was left behind when her owners moved… and then shot by the landlord.

She somehow survived for days in the woods and came back home where neighbors are keeping her safe and we've got her medical started.

And even after all of that? She is gentle, trusting, and lets us help her.

Right now:
• She is on antibiotics (infection is improving 🙏)
• She is eating soft food and taking meds
• She is SAFE and warm

But here’s the urgent part:
👉 She likely has a jaw injury and needs X-rays ASAP
👉 There is still a large swelling at the back of her head
👉 We need to get her into a vet before the weekend

We are trying to get a larger rescue involved, but time matters right now.

💸 We are raising funds for her emergency vet care

Even small donations help us get her seen:

🙏 Please also SHARE — rescues can’t help if they don’t see her.

She is the sweetest girl. She didn’t deserve what happened to her… but she deserves what happens next. ❤️

Friends.. please share or help. We have her medical started but she urgently needs further medical help and a home.

🚨 URGENT: Injured Heeler Mix Needs Rescue Placement – East Texas 🚨

Please help us find a rescue or foster placement for this incredibly sweet girl.

Name: Angie
Breed: Heeler mix
Weight: ~35–40 lbs
Location: East Texas (Polk County area)

Temperament: Extremely gentle and cooperative
Angie was left behind when her owners moved. The landlord shot her (likely with a .22) and she disappeared for several days before returning home.
Despite everything she has been through, she is kind, trusting, and incredibly sweet.

She is currently being kept safe and cared for temporarily, but she needs rescue support and veterinary care for her jaw injury.

Medical status
• Gunshot wound affecting her lower jaw/mouth
• Infection present but improving after starting antibiotics
• Currently on Clavamox and Gabapentin
• Eating soft food and able to swallow medication
• Alert, mobile, and cooperative with handling
• Needs X-rays and veterinary evaluation for possible jaw fracture or bullet fragments
She recently had puppies about 10 weeks ago, all of whom are already in homes.

Personality
This girl has been unbelievably gentle through everything. She allows mouth exams, takes pills easily, and has been nothing but loving despite her pain.

What she needs
• Rescue placement
• Veterinary care (X-rays and jaw evaluation)
• Foster placement or transport coordination
She is currently safe, warm, and being monitored, but this is only temporary. We are trying to get her into a rescue experienced with heelers or medical cases.

**Adding our Cashapp so we can get her full vet care ASAP please. $JustOneMoreRescue ❤️

Hi Friends! We are a new but rapidly growing nonprofit focused on rescuing Momma Cats and Kittens then socializing, loving, spaying/neutering and placing these sweet babies with their furever homes! We started with a stray momma kitty who came with our new house and soon after we pulled her most recent litter from under a tree, pregnant mommas and orphans quickly found their way to our care and our Just One More Rescue was born!

In two months, we have grown to 38 kittens (YES, 38!!) including 13 orphans and we just took in 2 pregnant sisters who were described as “Wild as March Hares” but within 30 minutes, these girls decided they LOVE being loved! *Update! Dove had 5 perfect babies yesterday and Diva is the best nursemaid and is impatiently waiting for hers.

Keeping up with this many mouths and litter boxes has kept us very busy!! It has adorably escalated into something really awesome for these kittens and we need your support now please! At the time this is finally being posted, we have received many, many pregnant cats and kittens but only $20 in donations so every bit has been done completely out of pocket. We are helping these kitties not only live but thrive and find their best friend. To keep it up, we really need support right now.

Please consider making a donation to help with the day-to-day expenses for food, litter, vet visits, kennels, towels, toys, fans, food dishes, etc, etc, etc. We also have an IMMEDIATE and URGENT NEED to fund our kittens being spayed/neutered. Our first 2 litters are almost ready to be fixed and the cost is at least $65+ per kitten! We have A LOT OF KITTENS and are still growing!! Please sponsor a spay or neuter (or 2) today!

More info about our journey and the kitties is available on our FB page or please reach out directly if we can answer any questions or make a love connection with your new best friend.

PS. Even a couple dollars makes a difference! Coincidently, the expense of retaining bits of my sanity is exactly the same as a $1.25 disposable litter pan.

We truly appreciate your support and generosity! We have set up these fast/easy methods to contribute and support our work. Please also take a moment to like our page and share this post.. Thank you!

Just One More Rescue is a No-Kill, Cat Rescue dedicated to saving the lives of kittens and cats in need. Our mission is to rescue, care for, and find loving homes for kittens and cats that need it most. Our goal is to become a 501©(3), not for profit organization working to ensure that homeless kittens and cats have a safe haven, free from shelters that euthanize animals.

When we rescue a kitten or cat, we want to provide them with veterinary care, bring them up to date on their vaccines, schedule their spay or neuter, and finally, work our hardest to find each kitten or cat their furever home and happy place.

In June we celebrate Adopt-A-Cat month, a month that marks the height of “kitten season,” when millions of kittens are born and often end up in animal shelters. More than ever, they need our help. Thousands of newborn kittens join the millions of cats already in shelters struggling to provide food, care and hopes for a furever home.

Just One More Rescue started with one simple goal. We wanted to break the kitten factory cycle for a neighborhood cat and the rest escalated quickly! We pulled Shadow and her 5 babies from under a tree stump in our backyard on March 26th and moved her into a big kennel in our "shed" with the intent to fix everyone, especially mama and socialize them for a loving future. Less than a week later, Erma emerged from the woods looking like she had a football in her belly and of course, since I carry a 30lb bag of cat food in the car with me, I stopped to feed her. She insisted on coming with me and 13 hours after arriving, Erma had 4 chunky monkey kittens and the Shed for U***d Mothers was officially born! The Shed for U***d Mothers is an 8’x16’ out building that survived a tornado 2 years ago. It has major holes in the roof so we are only able to use about half the building, it keeps everyone mostly dry, but is not perfect or a long-term solution.

It’s funny, the universe affirmed we are doing the right thing and the day after our page was created we received our first donation……a very pregnant cat! A week later, Lily had 4 tiny babies and brought us to 13 kittens! By the end of April, we had our second donation. An orphaned 2-week-old kitten. I knew Erma and her sweet litter would be the right family to take her in and it was instant love!

Last week we trapped and fixed our first kitties! Erma and Shadow were slated to be fixed, but while trying to trap 2 pregnant kitties, we got one Prego and Old “BB”, the male who seems to have fathered most of the cats in the area. You guessed it, Old “BB” moved to the head of the list and became one of our first official spay and neuters!

We had 3 more orphans come in the next day and another one yesterday, along with a litter of 7 and an orphan litter of 6 last week.. bringing us to 33 babies!! With kittens ranging from 4 days old to almost 8 weeks, (and more mommas and babies coming any time) we are working hard to help these little kittens thrive and be ready to be great companions in their furever homes!

Up to this point, we have done this out of our own pockets. We need lots of support right now. Please take a moment and give these kittens and cats a chance for a better life!

We all know that animals are our “best friends.” Won’t you please help us reciprocate that love and support. FOOD, kennels, litter, and vet costs are the major items that need your financial support.

To date, the only donations we have received are a whole bunch of kitties and $20 from a kind lady who saw me feeding a kitty colony behind the neighborhood gas station. Please consider donating! Even a couple of dollars makes a huge difference!!
