This is probably one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to share on this page. ❤️🩹
For those who don’t know, Mazikeen is my very own pup. A 9 year old Presa Canario, 120lbs of pure love. She isn’t just my dog, she is a huge part of the reason Snout & About exists in the first place.
Having a reactive dog taught me firsthand how difficult it can be to find people who are willing to slow down, make accommodations, respect boundaries, and see the amazing dog underneath the behaviors that others may find challenging. Mazikeen needed someone willing to meet her where she was, and loving her gave me the courage to build a business where I could offer that same patience and understanding to other dogs who needed it.
So much of what I believe in as a groomer: patience over perfection, comfort over convenience, and never forcing a dog beyond what they can handle: started with her.
And now, the dog who inspired me to spend my days taking care of everyone else’s babies needs me to fight for her.
Mazikeen has recently been diagnosed with a Mast Cell Tumor, and hearing those words has been absolutely devastating. I would do anything to give her every opportunity to fight this and to have as much happy, comfortable time with me as possible.
My mother has created a GoFundMe to help with the veterinary bills, testing, treatment, and whatever comes next. Asking for help, especially through my business, is incredibly difficult for me. But Mazikeen is the reason I had the courage to start Snout & About, and I owe it to her to have the courage to ask for help now.
If Snout & About has ever helped your pup feel a little safer, a little more understood, or a little more comfortable during grooming, a piece of that started with Mazikeen. ❤️
