Big Muddy Urban Farm We are dedicated to making sustainable and urban agriculture education accessible to all through sharing skills, resources, and community with neighbors.

Big Muddy Urban Farm is a collective of local food producers in Omaha. We are concerned with the current state of the food system at large. Moreover, we recognize the social and environmental injustices that have negatively impacted our neighborhoods and believe that food plays a prominent role in the overall health of our community. By providing a local
and diverse source of fruits, vegetables an

d herbs, as well as sharing skills and resources with our community, we hope to encourage communal resilience, empowerment, and a more localized economy. We are committed to engaging sustainably in our financial, environmental and cultural practices, by responding and adapting to the dynamic urban
environment in which we live.

Thanks to everyone who came out for the Local Foods Coordinating Committee summer barbecue last night! It’s rare that farmers, educators, community organizers and food system professionals get a chance to unwind and we’re here for more of it!

Big thanks to Nebraska Extension, Nebraska Extension Department of Urban Agriculture and Creighton University for helping put it on and to Djami Djibril Bah-Traore and House of Bah Foundation for the incredible eats!
