Thank you to all who participated in the Shed Antler Hunt Workshop this weekend. It was a great day for playing with our pups in a beautiful setting.

Huge thank you to Ken and Becky Newcomb from Husker Antler Dogs for coming and sharing their knowledge on this really fun sport! It was easy to see the passion they have for shed hunting and did a great job on helping us see what it’s all about.

The event started with an information sharing setting where we got to learn basic rules, what to expect at a trial, equipment etc.

Then working dogs got to play around with some antlers in the short grass, and on the edge of the more natural grasses.

Lastly working teams got to try a real course! There was so many great things reported about the dogs and handlers on the course from Ken.

Please enjoy some photos from the day. Feel free to add any of your photos or videos in the comments. We can’t forget to thank Scentwork Venue Coordinator, Nancy Cannon for organizing this! I think we all had a good time.

Nancy Cannon (with Hershey) and Kathy Shiple (with Cagney) took the plunge and entered their first Obedience trial this past weekend. They came away with some qualifying runs and smiles! These teams have been working hard in the Beginner Novice Prep Class. We can’t wait for others to join them in the ring!
