You’ve probably heard about our Barks and Rec program that lets you take a shelter dog out for the day, but did you know you can also take them for an overnight staycation?? Not only does it give them more time away from the shelter, but it gives you an opportunity to learn even more about them to help us find their forever home!
Wishbone hung out with Katie for a few days this week, and she has lots of great feedback!
Here’s what she had to say:
“This big hunk of love did well overall! Here’s some things we found out about Wishbone:
- He was pretty nonreactive to small animals, dogs and people. Met our neighbor kids and other adults on leash and did great!
- He did well with visitors over to the house
- We nicknamed him Pigpen because he loves to roll in mud and turn his white coat brown 😂
- He loved playing with our 4 yr old pittie! Although once he got more comfortable, he wasn’t super into letting her be the large and in charge girl she is used to being 🤪
- He is pushy with dogs sometimes which we saw (so is our dog!)
- He can be pushy with people too. Some demand barking at us at times. He seemed to do better with structure and boundaries and did okay in a crate. He also quickly understood that the doggy bed was his safe place.
Overall, Wishbone is a sweet goofy hunk of love who will do well with structure and routine.”
Wishbone is now back at the shelter patiently waiting for his forever family to come find him. Come meet him today!💜
