Before You Invest Thousands Into Training… See Where Your Dog Actually Lives

What You Can Expect From Your Dog After Completing My Program

Every dog progresses at their own pace, but by the end of the program, you can expect a dog that is significantly more reliable, easier to live with, and capable of making better decisions in everyday situations.

Your dog will understand clear expectations and be able to confidently perform commands such as:

• Recall (coming when called)
• Heel walking without pulling
• Place command with duration
• Sit and Down stays
• Leave It
• Crate/Kennel manners

Beyond obedience, we focus on real-life behavior. That means improving common household issues such as:

• Jumping on guests
• Excessive barking
• Counter surfing
• Door rushing
• Poor leash manners
• Lack of impulse control

Most importantly, you’ll have a dog that can relax when needed, enjoy more freedom, and become a better companion for your family. The goal isn’t to create a robot—it’s to create a well-mannered dog that can confidently navigate the real world while still being able to be a dog.

How I Use an E-Collar for the Place Command

To further clarify this video:

Many people hear the term “electronic collar” and immediately assume it’s a harsh or unfair form of punishment. In reality, that’s not how I use the tool in my training program for 95% of situations.

When introduced and conditioned correctly, the e-collar becomes a communication tool that helps create clarity, consistency, and reliability for the dog. The goal is not to intimidate or shut a dog down—it’s to help them better understand what is being asked of them. The worst thing that can happen would to make a dog fear you.

Unfortunately, there are many long-standing misconceptions about e-collar training. I genuinely enjoy educating dog owners on how these tools work when used properly, because the reality is often very different from what people have been led to believe.

If you have questions about e-collar training or how I incorporate it into my program, feel free to reach out. I’m always happy to have a respectful conversation and provide more information.

The Dog Trainer’s Dilemma

The absolute best age for me to train your dog is typically between 5–7 months old.

At that stage, puppies are still highly impressionable, eager to learn, and haven’t spent years rehearsing bad habits. It allows me to build structure, engagement, confidence, and reliability before major behavioral issues ever develop.

The challenge is that most puppies don’t become “difficult” until later. Around 7 months and beyond is when many owners start seeing problems like pulling, jumping, ignoring commands, reactivity, barking, counter surfing, or selective listening.

So naturally, many people ask:
“Why would I invest in training if my puppy isn’t causing problems yet?”

The answer is simple: prevention creates a far greater return than correction.

It’s much easier to build the right habits early than it is to fix months or years of unwanted behavior later. Investing in professional training before problems develop gives your dog the opportunity to mature with clear communication, structure, and reliability from the beginning.

That early investment often leads to a better relationship, fewer frustrations, and a much smoother life with your dog long-term.

I see posts like this every single day across almost every dog breed group.

It’s usually the same cycle: people who don’t understand training tools asking for advice from other people who also don’t understand them. The result becomes the blind leading the blind.

Prong collars and E-collars are not “plug-and-play” tools. They require proper timing, communication, structure, and understanding of the individual dog in front of you. Used correctly, they can create incredible clarity and reliability. Used incorrectly, they can absolutely create confusion and problems.

That’s why I always tell people not to base their opinions on random Facebook comments. Listen to qualified trainers who have real experience using these tools successfully with a wide variety of dogs.

A good trainer also understands that there is no one-size-fits-all answer. Every dog is different. Temperament, genetics, confidence, drive level, stress thresholds, environment, and handling all matter.

There’s a reason I spend hours educating clients on proper tool use during my programs. If these tools were simple, that level of owner education wouldn’t be necessary. The details matter.
