Even good dogs can decide to do something naughty! Chewing up or eating things inappropriate isn't uncommon, but can be a life threatening emergency. It's always best to get x-rays right away to determine if treatment or medication is needed. Addressing the issue early often provides more treatment options & less potential for an acute crisis.

Canine Infectious Respiratory Disease is going around. The clinic has had a number of effected dogs over the last few days. Often inaccurately called Kennel Cough, these respiratory infections are common even in pets that have NOT been to boarding or grooming facilities. If your dog is around any other dog, including neighbor pets or high trafficked areas like trails, park, common walkways watch for symptoms.

Periodontal disease is the most common dental conditions pets get. It's why cats & dogs are so prone to needing dental extractions. Trying to stay ahead of the problem with dental cleanings when only gingivitis is noted significantly reduces the chance of tooth loss. Feline Hypertension is not uncommon but usually gets missed until a crisis develops. If your senior cat has changes with their vision, dilated pupils, starts to vocalize unusually or at times seems disoriented it's important to check blood pressure. Also any cat with kidney disease can benefit from regular blood pressure checks at well.
