🐾 Meet Squirrel! 🐾

This handsome 12-month-old ferret wasn’t feeling quite like himself lately, so his family brought him in to see us. Our Licensed Veterinary Technician, Carl is on Team Squirrel, helping him get back to his sweet, mischievous ways.

We know that cone isn’t exactly Squirrel’s favorite accessory, but he’s rocking it like a champ! 😄 A little TLC and some expert care, and we’re confident this little guy will be back to his usual antics in no time.

Get well soon, Squirrel…we can’t wait to see that mischievous personality shine!💙

🐾 Meet our new patient, Jax! 🐾❤️

This handsome 3-year-old Heeler had a little too much fun playing outside and ended up with a 2-inch laceration. Ouch! Thankfully, Jax came to see us, and Dr. Rasmussen gave him some plastic-surgery-quality sutures to get him all fixed up! ✨🩺

After waking up from his procedure, Jax seemed fearful of going back to his run, so Lindsey decided he deserved some extra TLC. He curled up under her feet while she worked on helping a few other patients. 🥰🐶

Sometimes the best medicine is a little love and a cozy spot.

We’re so happy Jax is doing well and we think he found himself a pretty great place to take a quick nap! 🐾❤️

Sometimes you just have to meet your patient where they are! 🥰🐾

Milo decided he was perfectly happy laying right in the hallway while Lindsey and Lauren changed his bandage. And when a big dog decides he’s not moving, these ladies know exactly what to do…accommodate the patient! 😂❤️

Comfort, patience, and a little creativity go a long way when taking care of our patients. Thanks, Lindsey and Lauren, for making Milo’s bandage change as easy and stress-free as possible! 🐶💙

🎒📚 POV: The kids are going back to school…

🐶 “Wait…you’re leaving AGAIN?”

🐱 “So you’re telling me I get the house to myself?”

🐾 Milton: “Excellent. I have PLANS!” 😈

After a summer of extra attention, activity and having their favorite people around, the sudden change in routine can be an adjustment for our pets, too.

A little extra playtime, exercise, enrichment and consistency can help them settle into the new schedule.

But if you happen to come home and find your pet standing on the coffee table next to the remains of your houseplant…

Well, apparently Milton has adjusted just fine. 😂🌿🐾

Meet Nezuko! 🩵🐀

This sweet girl recently had surgery, and like a lot of pets, she was a little too interested in her incision.

Since a cone isn’t an option for rats, Lindsey made her a BiteNot Knot to help keep her from bothering her stitches while she heals.

We love getting to care for all kinds of pets, and sometimes that means getting a little creative. We’d say Lindsey did a pretty great job… and Nezuko looks pretty adorable in blue. 💙

A little reptile teamwork in action! Kelsey (Dr. Hanna’s daughter and 3rd year vet student) and Dr. McManigal are helping with a blood draw on this bearded dragon using the ventral tail vein, a common and important spot in reptile medicine. Kelsey has been a reptile mom for years, so this little dragon is right up her alley. ❤️🦎

Reptiles can be great at hiding how they feel, so diagnostics like bloodwork help us learn more about their overall health and make the best care decisions. We love getting to help keep these little dragons feeling their best.

We had the cutest visitor today! 🐾💕

Meet Dolly, who decided to show off her impressive balancing skills by sitting up like a little meerkat! We couldn’t help but smile when she struck this adorable pose.

Some dogs naturally sit upright for a few moments when they’re excited or trying to get a better view. It’s a fun little quirk that you don’t see every day, and Dolly had everyone at the clinic smiling!

Thunder came in for his very first vet visit today, and we’re officially in love. 🐾

This sweet Australian Shepherd pup marched right up to the exam table like a little pro, showed off his gorgeous eyes, and soaked up all the attention from our team. At just 11 weeks old and 18.9 lbs of fluff, he was brave, curious, and full of wiggles.

💥Tomorrow is the last day to talk to your vet and pick up anxiety medications for fireworks. We will be closed Friday, July 3rd and Saturday, July 4th so our team can enjoy time with their families and celebrate the holiday. 🧨

If your pet shakes, hides, pants, paces, vocalizes, or becomes extra clingy during fireworks, please don’t wait. These medications are meant to reduce fear and anxiety, not overly sedate your pet, so they can feel calmer, not “knocked out.”

A little planning now can make a big difference:

• Create a safe, quiet space indoors where your pet can retreat

• Keep windows, doors, and gates secure, and double-check that outdoor gates are properly latched

• Take dogs outside for potty breaks earlier in the evening, before fireworks activity begins

• Make sure collars and ID tags are current, and microchip information is up to date

• Pick up medications ahead of time and give them as directed before fireworks begin
