Our Mission: Haven Animal Rescue Nebraska is where animals come first! We are a foster based all-volunteer rescue that is devoted to rescuing and rehoming abandoned, suffering, and homeless dogs and cats of all breeds. Haven Animal Rescue Nebraska provides loving homes, medical care, socialization, and rehabilitation until each animal’s forever home is found. We are dedicated to not just finding a

ny adoptive home but the best fitting home for every individual animal and adoptive family. About Us: We are located in Omaha, NE with approved foster homes in surrounding areas. We do not have a physical facility, so potential adopters are able to meet our available animals through appointments after their applications are approved. We are always looking to add committed volunteers and fosters to the Haven family that are like minded in their passion for saving animals! Meet Chachi! 🤎 This handsome 6 month old brindle Boston Terrier/Beagle mix came to us through a breeder release and is ready to find his forever family!

Chachi is a puppy through and through. He’s active, playful, and has bouts of the zoomies. Squeaky toys, tug of war, hard chew toys, and socks are all fair game if they are on the ground . He’s also just recently discovered his voice, so he’s figuring out that barking can be pretty fun too.

Chachi is a bit of a leader. He’s inquisitive, loves to see what’s going on, and is learning commands as he goes. He does well on a leash, listens pretty well, and is submissive to the small dogs in his foster home. He has also learned that cats deserve a little caution. When he finally slows down, Chachi is a total lovebug. He gives the best hugs, loves kisses and pets, and is happy to sit or lay next to you or curl up on your feet. He sleeps nicely in his crate.

Chachi is still working on potty training, so his new family will need to be ready to continue teaching him the ropes. But with those adoring eyes, his big personality, and so much love to give, we think he’s going to make someone very happy.

Adoption Announcement for Maui! This 11 year old senior is finally home!

Maui’s past is heartbreaking but his future is bright. Originally he was adopted and thought he was home but sadly death claimed his dad’s and he came to Haven scared, alone and untrusting.

His foster mama let him have all the time he needed to readjust to life and get through his grief. If you know chihuahuas, you’ll understand how they pick their person and love them fiercely.

Eventually, he was ready to open up his heart again and his adopter was extremely knowledgeable in the way of chihuahuas so match was made! Maui is home for his golden years and we couldn’t be more thrilled! Be happy sweet boy and enjoy all the attention for your new mama!

Meet our stunning Rough Coat Collie, Miss Daisy! Miss Daisy is ready to be adopted and for someone to drive her home. At one year old and around 40 pounds this super sweet girl is still a puppy but already has her potty training and crate training down! Which is a huge bonus for any family!

Daisy lives with other dogs and loves playing with them to get her energy out. If you have no other pets, plan on walks and plenty of outside play time. A fence would be ideal for her as well. In addition, Daisy keeps busy with her toys and chew bones, is great on car rides and enjoys going to work with her foster mama.

Of course, as any puppy she will need continual reinforcement on manners, such as counter surfer, and commands. But she wants are to please and is hard at work on these manners currently in her foster home. Collies are known for their alertness and vocal traits, so if you're looking for a dog to communicate when people or squirrels are in the area she's your girl.

PLEASE SHARE AND HELP ROYAL FIND HIS FAMILY!

Some dogs like Royal come into our lives and bring so much joy while quietly touching all who have met him, yet still he is passed over time and again. Maybe for those of us that love him so darn much, it's hardest for us to watch but still we remain hopeful that someday his person will find him!

This brings us to why and how to answer when asked "How is he not adopted yet when he's such a good boy?" Perhaps it's that he has a fear of alpha dogs, but so many people want just one dog (which he'd prefer) so why not him? Maybe it's because he’s not a fluff puff type guy but at around 6 0 pounds he's certainly not huge. Yes, Royal craves love and attention but who doesn’t want a best friend to love them with their whole heart while serving up slobbery kisses?! No, he’s not a puppy but that can be a positive as he’s potty trained, crate trained, has great manners and at 3 years old Royal has years yet to give you his undying love!

This handsome boy currently lives with 3 non-dominant dogs that are his size, but he may be best as the only attention hog dog in his home. He would require a strict proper dog intro although he'd love to live solo with a 6 foot fenced in yard! Favorite activity is relaxing with and loving on his people. He thrives on a routine, unconditional love, an empty lap and snuggling in bed! Royal is smart, loyal and is easy to keep busy with bones. Once you’ve met him and he knows and trusts you, in oh maybe 30 seconds flat tops, he thinks he is put on this earth for you so you may have a best friend permanently attached to you!

Adoption Announcement for Missy (in the middle)! This tiny scared sweetheart was lost and searching for safety when a kind Haven volunteer scooped her up into took care of her. Although no one ever claimed her, little did Missy know the perfect family was just about to enter her life…

The day of Missy’s adoption was a new start of an amazing future! She now has an older wiser chi brother, a lively young playmate chi sister and an amazing humane family as well. Three weeks from today - we hope to see you at Lights of Love! ❤️

There will be music, food trucks, vendors, a silent auction, raffles, rescue dogs, kids activities, and plenty of reasons to wander around and enjoy yourself.

And as the evening settles in, the luminary path will light up Elmwood Park. Hundreds of little lights (265 and counting), each representing a loved pet.

A huge thank you to Tommy’s Car Wash in Bellevue for hosting us on Wednesday and helping raise money for our rescue! Thank you to every person who went through the car wash, bought raffle tickets, or donated. Every dollar raised goes right back to the animals we care for.

We really appreciate everyone who stopped by to say hi, especially those who brought their Haven alumn pups out to visit! We always love seeing familiar faces. Thank you, Tommy’s! ❤️🐾
