Dom still looking for that special person! He’s the sweetest, cuddliest giant ever! And as always, adopt a dog from Griffon Pond, and their first groom is on us!!
Meet Dom: The Gentle Giant Waiting for His Second Act 🐾
He is 135 pounds of pure heart. At 7 years old, Dom is looking for a new chapter after losing his best friend.
His previous family loved him, but they faced the tough reality that a dog of his stature, and his specific needs, required more than they could manage. They made the selfless choice to ensure he gets the care he deserves, and that is where his fresh start begins.
When Dom arrived, he was in rough shape. Deep-rooted matting had become heavy and stressful for this big guy, making "business as usual" grooming impossible.
We knew we needed serious help.
A massive thank you to our friends at Furvana Pet Spa, llc
They stepped up in a huge way, staying late and dedicating hours of patient, hands-on TLC to carefully remove those mats and give Dom his comfort, and his dignity, back.
They always do what’s best for each individual case and we all quickly realized Dom needed a complete overhaul.
They did not ask for anything in return; they simply did it for the love of a needy community pet.
Please consider supporting this wonderful local business! We simply adore their commitment to our beloved shelter pets.
What’s Dom like now?
The Vibe: A total "Beethoven." He is a giant, beautiful beast who is a complete ham for belly rubs.
The Manners: He was an absolute angel during his grooming marathon. He loves car rides and is a perfect passenger.
The Socials: He does great with other dogs in the shelter setting but we did have him at an event where he was overwhelmed and was being rude to other dogs. So it’s truly an unknown at this time.
Is Dom the right fit for you?
We are looking for a dedicated adopter who understands the responsibility of owning a giant breed.
Maintaining his coat is a commitment. We need an adopter who is ready to keep up with a consistent brushing routine to ensure he never has to feel that level of discomfort again.
If you are ready for a big-hearted companion and have the capacity to keep up with his grooming needs, please apply here:
