Last Saturday, Joint Animal Services hosted our annual Animal Cruelty Response Seminar, where our dedicated specialty volunteers received training in infectious disease recognition, veterinary forensics, field safety and awareness, and the fundamentals of animal fighting and cruelty investigations. Volunteers with the Animal Cruelty Response Team (ACRT) assist our field officers in warrant response as well as rehabilitation care of victim animals. Thank you to the instructors and our friends with the Washington State Animal Fighting Task Force for volunteering your time to support our mission in protecting and saving animal lives.

Pictured with our volunteers is Sir Henry! Sir Henry is currently available for foster care as he continues his recovery from severe emaciation. If you're interested in helping this resilient pup on his journey to health, we'd love to hear from you.

This morning the JAS Animal Cruelty Response Team (ACRT) responded with our field officers and the Thurston County Sheriff's Office to execute a search warrant as part of an ongoing investigation.

ACRT volunteers played an integral role in supporting officers as they processed the scene. Together, JAS and TCSO safely seized 17 dogs, 7 cats, and 1 chicken, who are now receiving rehabilitation care.

We are grateful for the dedication of our volunteers, field officers, and law enforcement partners who work tirelessly to protect our community and its pets.

Hi community! We’re running very low on dog treats at the shelter and could really use your help. 🐶💛

Our pups would love donations of:

• Soft chews (great for dogs with dental sensitivities)

• Jerky treats (because who doesn’t love jerky?)

• Xylitol-free peanut butter (safe for dogs!)

• Lean Treats (a special request from our Vet Team)

• Freeze-dried treats (a special request from the dogs 🐾)

• Canned cheese and peanut butter dog paste (truly one of the best inventions ever!)

Every donation helps make our shelter dogs a little happier while they wait for their forever homes. Thank you for supporting them!
