What the heck…..I’ve been in boarding all week so foster mom could go on vacation. She’s coming back soon…me and her other dogs and cats are here in boarding too.
We are all doing well and getting lots of pets and care from the kennel staff at Olive Branch Animal Clinic.

New Kitty is getting a little more used to us. I’m thankful he seems like a nice boy. No fighting. He looks a bit rough around the edges. May have been on his own for awhile.

I’ve been really worried about Molly. Back in November she was diagnosed with hypothyroidism (low thyroid). She had gained excessive weight 83 pounds. With medication she lost 23 pounds more blood work and then put in a lower dose. But she’s still losing weight. I think she is only about 50 pounds now. She’s thrown up overnight the last 3-4 nights. Her mood has gone to high prey for varmits and was waking up at 4-5am wanting to get out and bark howl chase varmits. So I started her on an overnight dose of trazadone. So now she’s up at 6am.
I understand she’s a hound but she’s never been this crazed and absolutely no recall until she’s had at least 2 hours of barking howling n such.
I really think the meds are too strong. It’s like she went from hypo to hyperthyroid. Especially with still losing weight and feeding her more.
Our vet bill is over $500 now and most of that is from her two other blood tests, meds, visits along with the medical euthanisia of sweet Kaci and Mr J when their bodies just gave out. We also have the new charges on Honey getting her up to date on everything.
We purchased meds to treat Honey and a German shepherd that was adopted from our local shelter for slow kill heartworm treatment. That’s another $330 coming out of our bank account.
I’m just at a loss…scared for Molly. I know she probably needs to go back to the vet but our bill needs to get caught up too.

I’ve been trying to keep up with all the new hunting skills I’m learning. I get a lot of exercise running looking for critters or other random weird stuff I find in the yard. I’ll bring items up on the deck for foster mom to see some new toys of interest.
We are all tired of the rain. Come on….can we dry out soon. Foster mom is doing her best to keep up with muddy dogs.

Sweet Honey! She’s hoping to find a foster to adopt home. She is getting spayed June 1st and could recuperate in with a family and finish her slow kill heartworm treatment. All meds provided for a year. She is current on all her vaccines and preventatives, about 3-4 years old, weighs 38 pounds, lap size and loves human attention. She was so happy at our adoption event getting lots of pets from the volunteers and visitors. No such thing as a stranger.
Maybe you are or know someone that’s looking for a sweet Honey companion to bring into their life.

Oakley is so happy when she sees the kitties. Her tail gets to wagging and she just wants them to be a friend. She’s been here 3+ years now, still terrified of humans but loves any dog or cat. She misses the 3 cats that were in the home. They have all passed away now. She was such a great companion for the last kitty that left us at 21 years old.
So when she gets so excited when the kitties come by it just makes me smile. It’s her happiest times of the day.

Some fun pictures of Honey from our adoption event today at PetSmart. She loved just sitting and relaxing with us old folks sitting in our chairs. Loves attention and gentle pets. She’s not really sure about other dogs but handled it really well today. She’s been through more than most dogs have since November of last year. Incarcerated at Desoto County Shelter then adopted in January and surrendered in May. So hopefully her life only gets lots better.

Rosie had fun today at PetSmart. Meeting new folks, playing with toys and enjoying some special treats. She is about a year and a half old now, a mix of German shepherd (she got from German shepherd mom) and Doberman-Boxer from dad. Weighs about 60 pounds, current on all her vaccines and preventatives. Heartworm negative. Full of life and energy but melts next to you for pets. Good with all ages.
