A long-awaited decision could help shape the future of seven pangolin species.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is considering whether seven pangolin species should be listed as endangered under the Endangered Species Act. The agency proposed the protections in 2025 and typically has one year to finalize a decision, though that timeline can be extended.

Conservation groups have spent more than a decade advocating for the protections, citing ongoing threats from wildlife trafficking and population declines across Asia and Africa. All eight pangolin species are currently considered at risk of extinction.

Sometimes you just have to go on a hunch. I had no intention of keeping Wini. Blue is my least favorite color, and I really thought my next would be a harl. However, fate's a fickle Mistress. Ava absolutely adores her, and most of my girls are paired up. Liebe and Dottie, Dirtie and Sietske, Valeska and Drakka. Ava, when I kept her, figured she'd just be a 3rd with Val and Drakka. And not that they don't enjoy rough housing, 3's a crowd definitely fits the scenario. Enter Winifrede, perfect match. They absolutely love each other. So, when in doubt, keep the puppy. LOL you most likely won't regret it!
