I'm going to explain the grooming process. I have people say "you don't need to dry it, I'll pick it up wet". Dog grooming doesn't work that way. We don't cut their hair wet like human hair stylists do.

I am off for the holiday weekend. I will be in the shop Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday next week.

I've already had people come in and say "leave the hair longer, cold weather is coming". Cooler, yes but it doesn't get really cold for another 3 or 4 months. Longer hair means they need to get groomed more often or you need to keep them brushed/ combed/ mat free at home. If you start growing it out now, the likelihood of them becoming too matted and needing to be shaved in the coldest part of winter is pretty high.
Sugar was kind enough to be my hair growth model. This is 10 weeks worth of growth for her. Definitely long enough to mat. Their hair grows fast.

It's going to be hot this week! I'm only going to be grooming a few dogs in the mornings and plan to be done around 12. The sun beats on my little shop and it gets warm in the afternoon. The animals are fine, they get to just lay around with two AC units and fans blowing on them all the time. It's me it bothers. I'll be in Wednesday, Friday and Saturday mornings. Friday and Saturday they're calling for storms. If they're sensitive to thunderstorms, waiting for a better day is a good idea. 😀
