We wanted to take a moment to clear up a common misconception about our feline boarding services.
We've had several people ask if boarding cats are allowed to spend time in our cat lounge with our rescue partners' adoptable cats. The answer is No and that decision is intentional and based entirely on your cat's health, safety, and well being.
Cats are naturally territorial animals. For many, simply being in a new environment is stressful enough. It often takes 24–48 hours before they begin eating normally, exploring their suite, or feeling comfortable enough to interact with our staff. For our more timid guests, we even monitor our overnight cameras to ensure they are coming out to eat, drink, and use the litter box when the building is quiet.
Every member of our team takes the time to learn each boarding cat's individual personality and body language. Some cats seek out attention, ask for playtime, and happily greet us when we arrive. Others prefer a quieter experience and only want us to enter their suite to provide fresh food, water, and a clean litter box. Neither preference is wrong.
Our commitment is to care for each cat as an individual, not according to what we think they should enjoy. Some guests have favorite staff members. Some avoid certain team members because we smell like other cats from working with them all day. We respect those preferences because earning and maintaining a cat's trust is part of providing quality care.
What we will NEVER do is place a boarding cat into our rescue cat lounge.
Doing so would expose them to unfamiliar cats, unfamiliar people, new scents, and constant activity all while they are already adjusting to being away from home. That level of stimulation is not enrichment; it is overwhelming, stressful, and could put every cat involved at risk.
While our rescue lounge is a wonderful environment for our adoptable cats, it is NOT an appropriate or safe setting for boarding pets. Our responsibility is to provide your cat with a calm, secure, low stress experience tailored to their individual needs not to force social interactions they neither expect nor benefit from.
When you entrust your cat to our care, their comfort and safety will always come first. We appreciate your understanding and your trust in our team to make decisions that prioritize your pet's well being above all else.
