Look at this precious girl, Olive 💗

A couple of weeks ago, Olive was seen for a corneal ulcer on her eye that was having trouble healing on its own. We also diagnosed her with keratoconjunctivitis sicca- a condition that causes chronic dry eye. That same day, we performed a procedure on her eye to help her corneal ulcer heal.

At her recheck exam today, Olive’s corneal ulcer was completely healed and her tear production has improved 🙌🏼 she has been such a wonderful, easy patient for her recheck eye exams and we are happy that she is feeling better! 🐾💗

We have some exciting news! 🐾👶💙
Dr. Wipf is expecting baby boy #3 late June/early July!

She’ll be here loving on your pets as close to her due date as possible before taking a couple of months at home to soak up all the newborn snuggles. While she’s out, Dr. Balch will be here seeing patients and taking great care of your fur babies.

We’re so excited for this sweet new addition to the Wipf family!

🐾💗Pet of the Week 💗🐾

Maggie is our pet of the week! She came to see us for her wellness exam and vaccinations.

As you can tell, Maggie loves our vet tech, Destinie. Maggie was waiting by the door when she heard her voice! Destinie has been helping take care of Maggie since she was puppy. Watching our patients grow up and getting to know their families is one of the best parts of the job 🥰

🐾💗 Sweet Gracie girl 💗🐾

Gracie had her comprehensive dental assessment and treatment last week. She had a fractured carnassial (upper premolar) that needed to be extracted. Look was hiding under the calculus.. Ouch!

Not only is a fractured tooth painful, but this specific tooth is very prone to developing a tooth root abscess when fractured. So it always needs treatment!

Fractured carnassials are very common in our canine patients. They typically occur due to trauma from chewing on something that is too hard such as toys, bones, rocks, etc.

Are your pets chewing on toys or bones that are too hard? A good rule of thumb: if your thumb nail cannot make an indent in the toy or bone, then it is too hard 🦷
