Teaching your dog to find and retrieve misplaced items can come in handy, and it’s also a really fun activity for you and your dog! I staged this “missing” phone for the cute video and some fun training practice for Mazzy. Getting dogs to use their nose and problem-solve builds confidence and enriches their daily lives.

Teaching your dog functional skills like “fix it” shown here not only makes life easier for owners and their dogs, but also shows dogs how to help themselves and problem-solve with their new skills. Mazzy will often fix her leash being caught under her leg all on her own.
