🐾❤️ **Happy National Dog Day!** ❤️🐾

Today is all about celebrating the dogs who make our lives better simply by being in them. From the goofy wiggles and zoomies to the quiet cuddles and those sweet eyes that seem to say *“I love you”* — dogs have a special way of making every day brighter.

Here at The Village Animal Welfare, we’re especially grateful for every dog who has crossed our doors. Some are still waiting for their forever families, while others have already found their happily ever after. No matter where their journey takes them, every dog deserves to feel safe, loved, and cherished.

So today, give your dog an extra treat, a belly rub, a long walk, or simply an extra “I love you.” If you’re looking for a way to celebrate National Dog Day, consider giving a shelter dog the greatest gift of all — a chance at a forever home.

Happy National Dog Day from all of us and our four-legged friends!

Every face. Every wagging tail. Every second chance.

This is our why. Why we show up. Why we advocate. Why we share their stories. Why we keep working to find loving homes for the animals who come through our doors.

They may only be with us for a small chapter of their lives, but while they’re here, they are loved, cared for and reminded that they matter.

And the best part? Watching them leave us for the homes they deserved all along. 🥹

Thank you to our community for continuing to support Village Animal Welfare, share our animals and help us give them the second chances they deserve.

Our why has four paws. ❤️

Sonar came to us unable to hear the world around her—but she certainly hasn’t let that stop her from experiencing everything life has to offer!

Being deaf simply means Sonar experiences the world a little differently. She’s a smart, curious girl who is eager to learn, and she’s ready to build a special language with her people through hand signals and visual cues. Deaf dogs can learn just as much as hearing dogs; they simply communicate through different signals.

Sonar doesn’t need someone to feel sorry for her. She needs someone who is willing to meet her where she is, teach her how to communicate, and discover just how much this amazing girl has to offer.

She may not hear you say “I love you,” but we have a feeling she’ll find plenty of other ways to know it. 💕

Reagan’s Second Chance at Seeing the World!

When Reagan first came to us, she had a condition called entropion, which caused her eyelids to roll inward. This can be uncomfortable and, if left untreated, can lead to irritation, infection, damage to the eye, and even blindness.

Thankfully, a wonderful donor group stepped up and generously covered the cost of surgery to correct it! Because of them, Reagan can now enjoy life without that discomfort.

She may look a little different after her surgery, but one thing that never changed is Reagan’s personality. She is still the sweetest girl around, and when she gets excited, she doesn’t just wag her tail… her WHOLE BODY wiggles! 💕

Reagan never let some eye troubles dim her light, and now she’s ready to keep spreading that light with her forever family. ✨
