💜 Bright eyes, brighter days!

Sweet Callie has come a long way! After being rescued by her forever family, this little kitten was battling conjunctivitis and a corneal ulcer related to a viral infection.

What does that mean? Conjunctivitis is inflammation of the tissues around the eye, while a corneal ulcer is a painful sore or injury on the clear surface of the eye. Both need veterinary attention, especially because eye problems can worsen quickly.

👀 Eye problems can be especially uncomfortable and can worsen quickly, which is why changes like redness, squinting, discharge, cloudiness, swelling, or pawing at the eye shouldn't be ignored.

With the right eye medications and an incredibly dedicated caregiver keeping up with her care at home, Callie is looking great! 🥰

Stories like Callie's are a great reminder that veterinary care is a partnership. We may create the treatment plan, but the love, patience, and follow-through families provide at home can make all the difference.

We're so happy to see those beautiful eyes feeling better, Callie!

Labor Day Weekend is almost here!

Tiny patients. Important protection. 💙

Puppies and kittens are still developing their immune systems, making those first exams and vaccine boosters especially important.

💉🐶 Puppy vaccines help protect against:
• Parvovirus: severe gastrointestinal illness
• Distemper: respiratory, digestive & neurological disease
• Adenovirus: infectious canine hepatitis
• Rabies: a fatal disease that can also affect people

💉🐱 Kitten vaccines help protect against:
• Panleukopenia: a highly contagious, potentially fatal disease
• Herpesvirus & calicivirus: common respiratory illnesses
• FeLV: a virus that weakens the immune system and can cause serious illness
• Rabies: protection for pets AND people

🩺 Those first visits go beyond vaccines, too! We check growth and development, screen for parasites, discuss nutrition and prevention, and look for concerns early.

And we’ve had plenty of tiny patients to love lately, including one special rescued foundling kitten who spends his days getting fed and spoiled by our team while his teacher mom is at work. 🍼💚

Those first visits may seem small, but the protection they provide can make a BIG difference.

There’s never a shortage of personality around Classen View! 💙

From first puppy visits to senior care, our team loves getting to know the pets who walk through our doors. Just look at a few of the faces we got to spend time with recently:

🐱 Willow may look like a mini tiger, but Lucia quickly discovered that treats are the way to her heart!

🐶 Sunni, an adorable 8-week-old Miniature Dachshund, stopped by for her first vaccines and puppy wellness visit, with Carl making sure she got plenty of attention along the way.

😎 Coco, a 10-year-old Yorkie mix, was here for her Quantum injection and daycare. She decided to add “official greeter” to her résumé and spent some time saying hello to our visitors!

💙 And we had a Crystal + Crystal moment! Our receptionist, Crystal, spent some quality time with 9-year-old French Bulldog Crystal, who was here for a wellness exam.

Every pet who walks through our doors has their own personality, their own story, and a family who loves them. We feel incredibly lucky to become a small part of those stories, caring for them, earning their trust, and being there through every stage of life.

Sweet Emmy was staying with us for boarding when she needed a little extra care for an upset tummy.

Thankfully, when you’re boarding at Classen View, help is never far away! Dr. Pate was there to check on Emmy, make sure she had the care she needed, and provide a few extra cuddles along the way. 🥰

🐶 Know the signs of GI upset:
• Vomiting or diarrhea
• Changes in stool
• Decreased appetite
• Low energy
• Excessive drooling or lip licking
• Acting differently than usual

🚨 When should you call your veterinarian?
Persistent or severe symptoms, repeated vomiting, blood in vomit or stool, significant lethargy, abdominal pain or swelling, or trouble keeping water down should be evaluated promptly.

Find Carl. Find a Cat.

We’re starting to notice a pattern around Classen View... if there’s a cat nearby, there’s a pretty good chance you’ll find Carl holding them. 😹💚

But Carl isn’t the only reason our feline friends can feel at home here! Our team uses cat-friendly, low-stress techniques to help make veterinary visits more comfortable, including:

• Calming pheromone diffusers
• Tasty treats for a little positive distraction
• Gentle, patient handling
• Giving cats time and space to adjust
• And, of course, a team that isn’t afraid to provide a few extra cuddles!

☀️ Think summer's over? Think again.

Even as the calendar starts to change, Oklahoma heat can still pose serious risks for indoor pets and pets who spend time outdoors.

In this quick video, Dr. Clark shares simple tips to help keep your pet companions safe during the hottest days of late summer, including:
💧 Keeping fresh water available and bringing a portable water bowl
🌳 Finding shade during outdoor time
🐾 Using a cooling towel or a cooling mat
🆔 Current ID Tags and up-to-date microchip info
🚗 Never leaving pets in a parked vehicle

A few simple precautions can make all the difference.

If Teddy could leave a review, we'd guess it would be 5 stars for the belly rubs. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Teddy recently visited us for his annual wellness exam and vaccines, and he made himself right at home! Between plenty of belly rubs from Lucia, Registered Veterinary Technician, and Alyssa, RVT Student, he showed that vet visits at Classen View include lots of love, comfort, and belly rubs.

Annual wellness exams are about more than vaccines. They give us the opportunity to monitor your dog's overall health, detect concerns early, and help keep them feeling their best for years to come.

Because every good boy deserves great care... and maybe a few extra belly rubs along the way. 🐾💙

☕🐾 Something NEW is brewing at Classen View! 🐾☕

Starting Monday, August 4, we're excited to launch Classen View Bark 'n Brews— a monthly event that brings together great coffee, happy pets, and our amazing community!

On the first Monday of every month, our friends from Joy Cart Coffee will be at Classen View serving complimentary coffee to clients visiting the clinic between 9-11 am!

And because we couldn't leave out our four-legged friends...
🐶 Dogs can enjoy a complimentary Classen Pup Cup, complete with whipped cream and a Milk-Bone treat! (While supplies last.)
