We had a wonderful group of young volunteers out at Nexus Animals yesterday and it was such a great day! 💛

They cleaned our pet buildings, organized food supplies, washed bowls, and — our favorite part — helped name one of our newest kittens! Thank you to this crew for showing up and giving your time to our animals. It means the world to our team! 🐾💛

Today was a beautiful reminder of what can happen when a community comes together for pets and the people who love them!❤️

Through our Care Connection program, Nexus Animals hosted a free vaccine clinic in South OKC and were able to make 46 impacts—meaning 46 beloved pets received essential vaccines, microchips, free collars, and personalized name tags.

We’re incredibly grateful to our veterinary partner, Dr. Holder, for giving her time and expertise to help make this day possible. Thank you to Skyline Urban Outreach for joining us and providing free groceries to families in our community, and a special thank you to our amazing volunteers, Mesa and Easton, whose hard work and dedication helped make the clinic such a success!

Most importantly, thank you to our donors. Your support is what makes programs like Care Connection possible! The financial assistance provided through this program allows pets to receive the care they need while helping families keep their beloved companions safe, healthy, and at home where they belong instead of entering shelters.

Our adoptable cats are living their best lives at PetSmart and we would love to find every single one of them a home this weekend. But let's be real, Oscar has our whole heart right now and we are not even a little sorry about it. This guy has been with us for several weeks and he has absolutely zero boundaries in the best way possible. He will find you, climb on you, and love on you like he has known you his whole life. Meet Sir Bonk🐴

You read that right. No typo, no nothin', his name is Bonk! Sir Bonk, if you will. Is Bonk the most beautiful horse you've ever laid your eyes on? Probably not, but that is part of his charm. Is he still a good horse and tries his very best? Absolutely.

Bonk has come from a very difficult situation and is here to start over! He has earned his title from the lumps, bumps and scars that adorn his body. He is unbothered by it all and has been nothing but kind to the new horses he's met and loves to say hello when you're out in the pasture.

Currently, Bonk is learning to lunge both on a line and at liberty while also working on becoming softer and more responsive to the halter. He is a very quick learner and seems to enjoy having a job and interacting with people genuinely. His personality is one of his best qualities ..engaging, thoughtful, and always interested in what you’re doing. Because he is naturally curious and people-oriented, we could absolutely see trick training or other fun groundwork activities in his future.

Bonk has had all his vetwork done and is ready to start a new journey! He is beginning his restart under saddle and is doing very well. We recommend at this time that he goes to an experienced handler to continue his training progress! There are thousands of thoroughbreds out in the world ready to find their person...could you be his?

Meet Rocki - a fun-loving Australian Shepherd mix with a heart as big as her hugs.🐾💛

This 2-year-old sweet girl is looking for an active, loving home where she can stay close to her favorite people. Rocki loves being by your side and will happily follow you anywhere, forming strong bonds and missing her people when they're away.

Rocki came to us after being hit by a car and has shown incredible strength and resilience during her recovery. She currently has rods in two of her left legs, but that doesn't slow her down-she continues to run, play, and prove every day how brave and determined she is. We would love to discuss more about Rocki's past and journey with any interested adopter to help ensure the best possible match for her.

Like many herding breeds, Rocki has strong herding instincts and likes to keep track of her people and animal friends. She struggles with being alone and may try to stay close or find her person if separated, so she will do best in a home where someone is around often. She thrives on companionship, affection, and being part of everything you do.

Rocki absolutely adores other animals-sometimes a little too much-and always wants to be as close as possible. Whether she's cuddling with her humans, shadowing another pet, or asking for hugs, she just wants love and connection. She is house trained!

Rocki is currently in a foster home. She has been spayed, microchipped, tested negative for heartworms, is up to date on flea/tick/heartworm prevention, and up to date on vaccines. Her adoption fee is $150.

This year Route 66 celebrates its 100th centennial and we are marking the milestone in a way that gives back to the communities that line this iconic road. 🚗✨ Our Get Fixed on Route 66 campaign is raising $55,000 to fund over 600 spay and neuter surgeries along Oklahoma's Route 66 corridor, in the communities that need access to these resources most. It is one of the most impactful things we can do for animals right now!

Happy trails, Bon Jovi!🐴💛

This classic Quarter Horse gelding has found his person and is headed south to his new home! He came in with a big personality and a name to match — and just like his namesake, he is going out on a high note. 🎸
