This week, we were proud to bring the Nexus Animals Care Connection to our neighbors in south OKC.❤️

We spent the day alongside incredible community organizations, providing vaccines, collars, leashes, flea & tick meds and other essential resources while also helping distribute food.

This is what our Care Connection program is all about. Sometimes, families love their pets deeply but need a little help during a difficult season. By providing access to veterinary care, food, and more, we can help keep beloved pets healthy, happy, and right where they belong: at home with the people who love them.

We are so grateful to our donors for making this work possible! Because of you, we can continue showing up for our neighbors and their animals when they need us most. And a big thank you to our volunteers for assisting in the hot temps and to Dr. Holder for providing veterinary care!🐾

🚨CHECK YOUR SPAM FOLDER! 🚨

Meet Spam, one of three donkeys who arrived at Nexus after spending his life roaming hundreds of acres in the country. Fortunately, Spam quickly discovered something very important: PEOPLE HAVE SNACKS. Since then, he's become much more interested in this whole “hanging out with humans” thing.

Spam is still a little shy and cautious at times, but he's becoming friendlier and more confident every day. He's recently started wearing a halter and learning how to lead, and while he's making great progress, he's still figuring out the basics.

Loading? Still learning.
Tying? On the to-do list.
Picking up all four feet? We'll get there.

The good news is Spam isn't bringing any bad habits or traumatic experiences to the table. He's simply a country boy who never got the chance to go to donkey school.

Spam will need an experienced, patient adopter who can continue building his confidence and teaching him everything he needs to know to become a well-mannered donkey. And honestly? He's pretty darn cute while he's figuring it all out.

Spam will be available for pre-adoption but won't be able to leave Nexus until he has fully recovered from his castration.

Happy Tails, Garfield! ❤️🏡

It’s only been 10 days since Garfield found his forever home, and he’s already settling in like he’s always belonged there! Garfield is loving life as a house cat and has even made a new best friend in his family’s 12-year-old Border Collie, who had never met a cat before. 🐶🐱

His family says Garfield is loving, inquisitive, and a wonderful addition to their farm. We couldn’t be happier to see this sweet boy living his best life!❤️
