🤝 We’re Partnering With Meals on Wheels of Norman!

We’re so excited to share that Silver Paws Golden Days is officially partnering with Meals on Wheels of Norman, Inc. to support their Animeals program —which provides pet food and supplies to 75–100 of their seniors and disabled clients every month.

If you know us, you know seniors (both human and animal) have a special place in our hearts. Many of these clients (just like us!) rely on their pets for comfort, routine, and companionship. Helping keep them together feels like exactly where we’re supposed to be.

🐾 We’re kicking off this partnership with a pet food drive.

Meals on Wheels shared that their biggest current needs are:
• Dog food
• Cat food
• Dog treats

We’re also collecting:
• Cat litter
• Cat treats
• Other helpful pet supplies

🙌 Volunteers Needed!

We’re looking for help with:
• Decorating and maintaining donation boxes
• Picking up donations around Norman
• Rebagging large bags of food into smaller 3–4 lb portions

💛 Why This Matters

Keeping pets with their families is more important — and harder — than ever. The need is growing, and it’s been inspiring to see how many organizations are stepping up to keep locals pets and with their families where they belong.

🚨 Public Safety Alert - Rabies Positive Skunk Confirmed in Edmond 🚨

Edmond Animal Services has received confirmation of a rabies-positive skunk found and tested from the area of 15th Street and Boulevard.

This is an important reminder for pet owners to make sure all dogs, cats, horses and ferrets are current on their rabies vaccinations — it’s not only critical for their health, but required by law. Rabies is fatal once symptoms appear, but 100% preventable through proper vaccination.

👉 Here’s what you can do to keep your pets and family safe:
🐾 Make sure your pets’ rabies vaccines are up to date — check your records or contact your veterinarian.
🐾 Keep pets supervised and avoid contact with wildlife.
🐾 Report any animals acting unusually tame, aggressive, or disoriented to Edmond Animal Services immediately.
🐾 If you or your pet are bitten or scratched by a wild or unknown animal, seek medical or veterinary care right away and notify Animal Services.
