Fire Prevention Week reminder: cats don’t always run toward the door when they’re frightened—they often disappear into their favorite hiding place. 🐾🚨

A little preparation can save precious time:

🔥 Keep carriers accessible—not buried in a closet
🔥 Make sure everyone knows your cat’s usual hiding spots
🔥 Keep a pet go-bag with food, medications, and veterinary information
🔥 Update microchip information and your pet-alert window sticker

Paige would also like it noted that emergency planning is management’s responsibility. Her responsibility is hiding somewhere extremely inconvenient. 🐈‍⬛

October is National Pet Wellness Month—and cats are famously talented at pretending everything is perfectly fine. 🐈‍⬛

Paige’s official wellness inspection includes watching for changes in:

🐾 Eating or drinking
🐾 Litter-box habits
🐾 Grooming
🐾 Jumping and movement
🐾 Mood or social behavior

After more than 20 years as an RVT, I know the smallest changes can sometimes tell us the most. Knowing what’s normal for your cat is one of the best ways to recognize when something isn’t.

Seven years ago, she joined our family. Since then, she has promoted herself from beloved companion to Founder, Mascot, and CEO—while delegating most actual responsibilities to me.

When questioned, Paige would like everyone to know that, as founder and official black-cat representative of Black Cat Pet Sitting, she was under absolutely NO obligation to remind us about a holiday celebrating orange cats. 😹

So we may be a day late, but those orange beauties deserve some love anyway! 🧡

From their legendary shared brain cell to their big personalities, questionable decisions, and undeniable charm, ginger cats definitely know how to keep life interesting. 😂

Around here, we don’t need a special day to appreciate black cats…but we’re certainly not going to pass one up! 😻

Today we’re celebrating two very special members of the Black Cat Pet Sitting family:

🐾 Paige — our beautiful founder, mascot, and CEO of looking gorgeous while silently judging everyone.

🐾 Raven — our tiny one-eyed agent of chaos, professional food thief, jewelry collector, and firm believer that rules are merely suggestions. 😂

Black cats are loving, goofy, mischievous, beautiful, and unfortunately still too often overlooked in shelters. Today is the perfect day to give these little house panthers some extra love. 🖤
