Sabbath Memorial Dog Rescue is a non-profit organization under 501C3 status. Located in Okeechobee, we are dedicated to rescuing abused, neglected, and abandoned dogs from the streets, giving them care and love, then placing them with loving families. We usually have around 90 dogs at our facility, so there are plenty who need a "furever" home!! Sabbath Memorial Dog Rescue provides medical attention to injured and sick dogs, and educates the public about responsible pet ownership. Each year, millions of animals die in shelters because they are unwanted. We are dedicated to rehabilitating, caring for and finding permanent placements for all of the animals we take in. We never euthanize an animal to make room for another. We care for all the animals we take in until they are adopted. Each of you can make a difference in the lives of the animals in our care and your generous tax-deductible financial donations will help us save many more precious animals each year. operates on a simple philosophy: We believe that every dog deserves a chance for a quality life. Our goal is to see that every dog gets a chance to be placed into a life long loving family environment. If we feel rehabilitation is necessary, we will continue to work with the long-term cases until we are satisfied with the results. A dog taken into the SMDR program will get loved, cared for and worked with until the adjustment is complete and a home that matches the requirements is found.

It’s Day 5 and Dotty is still in 2nd place — and with the first cut on January 15, we need to lift her back into that #1 spot.
Every vote is a little act of love for this rescue girl.
You can vote free once a day, and you don’t need Facebook to purchase votes.
All purchased votes support PAWS, a nonprofit helping abandoned pets find safety and home.

Thank you to everyone who keeps voting and sharing — it means more than you know.
We truly need this win. If Dotty takes 1st, Dotty can finally get her dental, and I’ll be able to cover my own bills while I work toward getting hired again.

Let’s carry Dotty back to #1 together.

Dotty’s a rescued basset-dachshund-Jack mix who channels vintage Nipper, carries her bunny like royalty, and always steals the spotlight.

Vote to determine who will win $13,000 and team up with Kane Hodder for a paranormal photoshoot to be featured in Rue Morgue Magazine!
