Purdy and Ayla arrived yesterday for boarding. They will be with me until next Tuesday🥰. Just lovely companions to have around🐾💜. They are also going through the 6 week socialization program together.

Lil Miss Winnie has meltdowns when passing dogs in her neighborhood not to mention people. We have gone back and forth on what to utilize on her…harness or training collar. Multiple different designed harnesses with no ability to redirect. Since she is a breed of restricted airway with her cute stubby snout we have been on the fence with using a training collar. Though after consent from her owner we have a martingale style collar on order and we will try that in our next session. I improvised with flat collar and top load harness. As you see, a redirection is given respectfully along with a verbal redirection then I release all pressure as her reward and it works. Communicating through the leash is key. No treats are used as timing is very important. If we miss the mark and treat her it will be treating her state of mind which is counterproductive with counter conditioning training. Well done Winnie!!🐾💜
No doubt she redirects by the scruff rather than a harness attached to the top off her back which no doubt creates pulling and distance from us. Stay tuned for her next session with her new collar in her next session

Little Miss Eevee had a long over due Train n Hang session this past week. She’s not a fan of leaving her owner the bond is sweet but strong but she made it through the session just fine. Shes come a long way all these months. So proud of her and her owner Jennifer who dedicates so much time to helping her become a balanced dog so she can continue to be utilized as a service animal. Continuing the desensitization process keeps a service animal fine tuned and what better way than your local Lowe's Home Improvement store where staff are phenomenal with our visits 🐾💜

Block head…..and I say that with love….Tank is doing fantastic in training. He’s young energetic and gets overwhelmed when we enter new environments but self regulates with the help of his owners. The more he gets out the more desensitized he will be. He was the official greeter of everyone at The Home Depot the other night. A big thank you to their incredible staff for having him🐾💜
