SCARED/STANDOFFISH KITTY NEEDS A HOME. POSSIBLE BARN HOME.

Possum is a black male fixed and vaccinated. Dewormed and deflead. He can be shy and standoffish. He chooses when he wants human contact. He can be a barn kitty or if you want a challenge in house he is your man.

His foster says he is sweet but very scared at first. He came to be with me for a bit and hated me lol but then again I was the evil medicine giver while he had pneumonia and it took way too long to get him healthy. So I wouldn't be surprised if he sees me and just happens to still think that what I will be doing when I handle home now. Cats can be just like humans sometimes.

I just want what he wants for himself.

LET'S MEET AT PETSMART TODAY!!

The weather kept us home yesterday with the kitties, but we will be there today in Oxford 12-5 with. The sweetest adoptable kitties ever. Come on down and see them.

While I won't be at PetSmart in Oxford for adoption day, there will be plenty of wonderful volunteers and kitties there to meet.

Pray for me please and thank you. I had a severe reaction to a new medication that left me with seizures and severe uncontrollably shaking for 24 hours. I was transported to the emergency room via ambulance late Thursday night. I am ok now. The shaking and seizures have subsided but I have been left exhausted and in a lot of pain. I am resting comfortably as my sweet family has been checking on me throughout the day and tending to me. I sure am blessed.

Despite closing the rescue, I still have 6 fixed cats of ours awaiting adoption.

Sesame - a 7yr + male seal point Siamese who is currently at PetSmart

Steve - a 7month male black sweety who is healing from a flea infestation that left him with sores

Cosper, Brix, Derby, and Possum - are 5 month old black males who are with a foster for socializing

We sure could use some dry food for them if anyone would like to help. We need the kitten chow in yellow bag. Thanks from all of us here (me and kitties)

Look at this handsome senior. Sesame is 7+ yrs. He is fixed and up to date on vaccines. He is a love bug 100%. He has beautiful blue eyes I could stare into all day.

He is also declawed which we do not advocate it is a mutilation of their paws that affects their whole body by changing their posture completely. Cats are tippy toe walkers and declawing removes their toes completely causing them to have to walk on their pads instead. This changes the position of their spine and hips drastically. This in turn leads to early onset arthritis, back pain, hip pain. Unfortunately these kinds of pains lead them to not use a litter box properly sometimes. On top of that their feet really never recover fully most of the time leaving them super sensitive to certain litter types, mostly small litter granules like clay litter, pretty litter, Walnut litter, Cobb litter, etc.

Unfortunately sesame does suffer from the sensitivity and his paws for sure. We have found that he likes to use pine pellet litter which is bigger and easier on his feet. He also does not like covered litter boxes as he feels like he is trapped and can't escape or can't get into a comfortable position to go to the bathroom. Thankfully, these things are manageable with the proper litter he is a happy litter using boy.

He is looking for a home where he can be the only cat or have one cat friend that accepts him and doesn't bully him because he is very laid back. He is also looking for a human that completely understands he might make a mistake now and then and that's his way of telling you that he doesn't feel so good in his feet or that he's not comfortable with where the litter box is sitting. He just wants a nice warm lap and a tender hand to pet him while he sits in it.

Sesame has returned to us once again. We aren't sure if the covered box or adult cats in the home caused him to p**p outside the litter. Each time I have gotten him back he doesn't continue the behavior. I use open stainless steel pans with pine pellet litter and he is with 8 kittens. At current he is also with one other adult cat, Boo kitty, and so far is doing fine. It does become frustrating to try and determine why he has the problem in a different home and not here. I can't exactly 'fix' something he doesn't do with me lol. Poor buddy has to be so confused at this point as to why he keeps bouncing around homes.

He is so very sweet and calm. 7+ years old, neutered, declawed. He will only use pine pellet for litter due to being uncomfortable in his declawed front feet. This is very common in declawed cats.

I am determined to help him find his purrfect furever home.

So I'm still here lol. Although intake is permanently closed, I still have Steve, Cosper, Brix, Derby, and Possum in my rescue care. I also still have Boo kitty who is adopted but this heat has stopped us from introducing her to it as she will be inside and outside on a mini farm. The adopter and I decided since even her farm animals are struggling with the heat, it was a bad idea to try and acclimate Boo at this moment. She is an overweight black kitty. Her safety must come first.

Slowly the foster kitties have been spayed and neutered as they reach proper age. Today, Day and Betty White are going to be done.

Two weeks ago, Fat fat and Fluffy went. Fluffy was then adopted.
