A little update on Jeb & Livvy ♥️

Little by little, these two are getting stronger, and we couldn’t be happier to see it. They’ve each gained a couple of pounds and are slowly putting on some much needed weight. Despite everything they’ve been through, Jeb and Livvy continue to show us just how happy, loving, and sweet they are. They have so much love to give, and watching them settle in and enjoy the little things is something special.

We’re so grateful for all the donations and goodies people have been sending their way, from food and treats to toys, slow feeders, and so much more! Many of you have also reminded us to share the love with the other animals here, too, and we absolutely love that. Thanks to your kindness, there’s a little something extra to go around for everyone!

Jeb and Livvy have also received some seriously cute sweaters, hoodies, and coats to keep them cozy. And now they’re ready for spooky season! Check them out in their new Halloween pajamas that someone dropped off for them today 🎃🧡

If you’d like to send a little something Jeb, Livvy, or any of our other shelter animals way, you’re always welcome to stop by and drop off donations! A huge thank you to Kysa Kritters for working tirelessly to get these dogs to safety and give them the second chance they deserve. We’re grateful to be able to help by welcoming these two to St. Lawrence Valley SPCA this morning ♥️

Following a hoarding case involving a large number of dogs in Plattsburgh, Kysa’s Kritters has been working hard to get these dogs the help they need. After everything they’ve been through, these dogs deserve a chance to heal, feel safe, and experience the love they may have gone without. These two will receive continued care and treatment here at the SPCA as we help them get ready for the next chapter and, eventually, the loving homes they deserve!

We’re starting something new at the SPCA called Fetch It Friday! 🐾

Each Friday, we’ll update a special Amazon wishlist with a new theme and a handful of items our shelter pets could use. It’s a fun little way to highlight different needs each week and give our furry friends some extra love along the way!

And with Halloween right around the corner, we thought our first theme should be Treat the shelter pets!

We’ve gathered a few seasonal goodies to kick things off, and if you’d like to send a little something our way, you can find this week’s wishlist right here!

Pardon our dust (and our new cement)! 🚧🪏

We are currently in the middle of some major construction upgrades. Because they are actively pouring cement and working right around our main entrance, our front door will be temporarily inaccessible.

We are still open, but we are strictly by appointment right now.

To ensure everyone stays safe and avoids the construction zone, please call us ahead of time to schedule your visit. When you arrive for your appointment, give us a call at 315-393-5191, and a staff member will safely guide you inside!

Did your furry family member recently attend a free rabies vaccination clinic? Please be aware that there is currently a delay in processing rabies vaccination certificates from recent clinics. Certificates are expected to be processed and issued within 7–10 days 📬

Thank you for your patience while everything is processed, and a big thank you to St. Lawrence County Public Health for helping keep our pets and community protected.

Two adoptions, two happy tails, and two brand new beginnings!♥️

We have some lovely news to share from the SPCA!

Both Beanz and Kia found their forever homes, and we have a little bit of each of their journeys to share with you.

Beanz found his happy forever after with a family who’s ready to give him all the patience, love, and encouragement he needs to grow into the happy, confident dog we know he can be! We’re SO excited to see where this new chapter takes him, and we’re incredibly grateful to his family for making such a wonderful commitment to him!

Kia may be a familiar face to those who have stopped by the shelter, whether just once or on a regular basis! This little gray and white girl came to us after being found inside the engine of a Kia, and she was a tiny, terrified, unsocialized kitten who wanted absolutely nothing to do with us.

Kia spent many days hanging out with us as our little office kitten, slowly learning that people weren’t so scary after all. Watching her blossom into the feisty, curious, playful, and much happier kitten she is today has been such a joy!

Although Kia was certainly a favorite around here, we couldn’t be happier that she gets to spend the rest of her kittenhood doing exactly what kittens should do: exploring, playing, getting into a little mischief, and growing up surrounded by love. No kitten should have to grow up in a cage, and we’re so excited that Kia gets her chance at a life beyond the shelter!

A huge THANK YOU to both families for choosing to adopt and giving Beanz and Kia the opportunity to grow, thrive, and experience life outside the shelter.
There is nothing quite like seeing our animals head home with families of their own, and we are so grateful these two got their turn.

And for everyone else reading this…… 👀 we still have SO many wonderful animals waiting right here at the SPCA for their chance at a happily ever after!

We’re running low on 13 gallon trash bags at the St. Lawrence Valley SPCA and could use a little help restocking!🗑️❤️

It might not be the cutest item on our wishlist, but it’s definitely one of those everyday essentials we go through a LOT of while caring for our animals!

Have a pack or two you’d be willing to donate?

A thank you to our community is once again MUCH needed ♥️

The amount of love and support we’ve seen for Jeb and Livvy has been absolutely heartwarming. In less than 24 hours since sharing their story, our community has shown up for these two in ways that mean so much to us. All of us at the shelter appreciate it more than you could ever know

To everyone who has donated, left a kind word in the comments, shared our posts, or taken the time to drive over to the shelter with donations of Kongs, food, and treats for these two and their shelter friends — THANK YOU. Every little bit of kindness adds up, and we’re so grateful for every single person who has shown these dogs that people care.

Taking in animals who need a little extra help and care can be an incredibly heartbreaking part of rescue. While there’s still a lot of work ahead, we’re grateful for the opportunity to help Jeb and Livvy move forward, one step at a time. They deserve to feel safe, experience kindness, and have the chance to start a new chapter surrounded by love. Having so many people rooting for them and wanting to see them succeed means more than you know 💟

We’re so excited for what’s ahead for Jeb and Livvy, and we can’t wait to share their progress with all of you!
